Skaliwags Fish Creek

My husband and I are from out of town. Several locals had recommended Skaliwags, and now we understand why. Wow! The service was top notch. Chef Chris and his family have created some ridiculously good plates. We had the grilled romaine salad to start, which was huge and bursting with flavor. Then the Jesus burger and bbq burger - we both said they were the best burgers we’ve ever had. Fries were even cut uniquely and stood out! If you like outstanding service and food, don’t miss this gem!

AMAZING food and service! This is what DC needed and has needed for years. Good food and good service. Chef talked to us numerous times and the server was just as nice! We will highly recommend this to all of our guests that stay and fish with us, don't go anywhere else to eat in DC you're wasting your time!

So excited that Skaliwags is in Fish Creek/Door County! Fresh scallops, asparagus & taters served in a beautiful manner. DELICIOUS & a regular recommendation for our B & B guests. Unusual & efficient way of placing your order at the front, payment including 15% gratuity taken care off prior to being seated. Service was excellent! Can’t wait to return!

To begin: the food is outstanding. There's a great variety, the seafood is FRESH and well presented. None of the other items would matter if the food wasn't so great.

But there are many other qualities that make this a special dining experience. The location is great - plenty of people watching and lake views while enjoying your meal. The chef comes out and chats with you during your meal. Finally our waiter was very attentive yet not annoying.
I'm not sure if it's because of the labor shortages or if it will always be a feature, but you will need to order before you sit down. I've gone to old school Supper Clubs that do this, bit it's a bit unique. Also keep in mind the prices on the menu include the gratuity - so what may seem out of line are actually quite reasonable.
I'd highly recommend eating here while in Fish Creek.

The food is delicious. The brisket was the tenderest I've ever had; the lobster on the lobster roll was impossibly fresh. Chef Chris' range is impressive, too -- from perfectly prepared fine fish entrees to an awesome burger topped with slow-cooked pulled pork and bacon. Best of all, Skaliwags has a great personality. Chef Chris is a gregarious, lovable host, and his staff is warm and efficient. They all make you feel very welcome and appreciated.
