JJ's La Puerta of Sister Bay

The food here was just so so. It wasn’t bad, but not fantastic either. I don’t usually add salt to my food, but the fries had zero seasoning on them. The grilled cheese was okay, it almost had too much cheese. I did end up picking some out and leaving it behind. We also ordered the tacos and they too were just okay. Not awful, but nothing to write home about. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was fun. We sat down by the water. Service was fast.

Service was excellent. More importantly the food was excellent! Salsa was excellent. Rice and beans were excellent. All four of us agreed it was some of the best Mexican food we've had.

Service was a bit slow. The food was average. Tried a “Bernie” shot for $2 (tequila, brown sugar & orange) and it was delicious! Would give 2 stars but the salsa was so yummy it was worth an extra star !

A great spot for the location, hours. And selection. The "Bernie" shot is a great deal, only $2 for rail tequila, orange slice, and cinnamon sugar. The margaritas were refreshing for summer but inconsistent on strength. The food was good but also if you are in on a Friday, be clear about ordering the Fish Fry versus the Fish entrees because even though they sound the same, they are not.
