“This place is cheap and they have great selection. Plus the employees are very nice and they give awesome advice. There is a huge selection of things to buy and my family loves to come to this bar for just about any occasion. The price is reasonable without a doubt. And they also have poker machines which pay fairly.. I'm not sure how late they stay open but I know it's at least until bar close at 230.”

“Vintage, old diner in downtown Wausau. Stopped for late lunch. Wife had a gyro salad, I opted for a hot turkey sandwich. Hard to screw up a hot turkey sandwich unless you use fake potatoes. While the turkey wasn’t carved right off the bird it was still tasty. The mashed potatoes and gravy were terrific. Gyro salad very good. This is a solid, basic locale for home cooked food, no frills. Some sites claim it’s a top 5 restaurant in town. Go and determine your own rating. I’d go back again.”

“Townies is a great spot for American pub style food. Convenient location downtown makes it easily accessible. Staff is almost universally friendly, helpful, and professional. If the bar is busy, you can expect something of a wait for drinks. Food is excellent, reasonably priced, and arrives quickly. Be sure to try the quesadilla as an appetizer, and the Townie burger is always a great choice.”

He generally have live music Thursday Friday and Saturday nights, with little or no cover charge. Service is always decent, the Meg was exceptional this last time.”

“The food was awesome. I'm giving three stars because of the poor attitude the counter lady gave both my husband and my friend. But she was nice to me? Also the dining room closed at 11 PM and the manager ( I assume) locked the doors way before hand. I am unsure of what McDonald's policy is on closing the dining room early but people were getting mad when they tried to come in. I also assume they sent the front cash home early and they didn't want to put another till into the register for a half hour.”

“Red Eye is THE place to go when you have any visitors visiting from outside of the area! I love to take friends visiting me that have come from another state to eat at Red Eye. Out of state friends whom visit regularly always ask to go back to Red Eye. I always love checking out what new items are on the daily chef's menu. It keeps the menu from getting stale and makes it unique. If there isn't anything on the daily menu that strikes an interest, my go-to is the Wisconsin Burger! I always recommend that to visitors who aren't interested in the daily menu options. They offer a variety of vegetarian and gluten-free foods. Their drinks are amazing! I always get an old fashioned (whiskey sour for me!) because they always get it just right. And you wrap it all up...AMAZING and unique desserts!”

“Visited on Fri night. Nice local place in an older, house-like tavern. Sat at the bar. Bartender was very attentive while also being very busy. Had a beer then ordered the clam chowder and cod plate. Both were tasty, fried cod wasn’t too greasy. Plenty of TV’s. Outside seating. Due to the limited Fri night menu hard to tell what else they served during the week. I’d go back again and recommend it as a relaxing spot with plenty of local flavor although it does get a bit loud at times.”
