First time at St. Paul Fish Co. Nice restaurant where they have a small fish market as you enter. We had the fried calamari as an appetizer. Delicious, large chunks of calamari but the sauce provided was too strong and overpowered the calamari with sour notes. I highly recommend the chef order the fried calamari from thy Cheesecake Factory and taste two perfect sauces to accompany calamari. My wife ordered the bouliabase and I the king crab dinner. Both were superb. The tomato broth in the bouliabase was outstanding and thy assortment of shellfish, whitefish, shrimp and calamari were perfectly prepared. My king crab was perfect. A very good lunch and I highly recommend giving St. Paul Fish Co a try.

We went on a very busy Friday evening and were told it would be a 45 minute wait. They were spot on with their estimate. There is very little waiting room unless you want to sit outside, but the wait was worth it. We had the lake perch fry (deep fried, not pan fried) with french fries and coleslaw. The fish were perfectly prepared and delicious...one of the best perch fries we've had. In spite of the crowd, service was prompt. Our companions had the lobster roll, which they thoroughly enjoyed. But the ice tea was out of "the gun" and not very good. Drink something else instead. The huge parking lot was pretty full since it also serves the Mequon Public Market.

There was a 20 minute wait for a table (not bad at all) but there was available seating at the bar so we opted for that. We ordered a side of calamari which was excellent. I had grilled red grouper and my friend had fried Alaskan halibut. Both were also very good. The staff at the bar where friendly and gave great service. This is a definite go to place if you like seafood.

The food was great as usual. Unfortunately my appetizer came out 5 minutes after my main course. Also we waited over an hour for our table and I now know why. The waitress never came back to check on us and we waited 15-20 minutes to get the bill after we were done eating. Actually had to ask for the bill. For the record the food is fantastic. I'd avoid Friday night though.
