“Love Bear Paw! We have been seasonal campers for 2 seasons now and we love this resort and campground. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained, the facilities are well kept and maintained, and the owners are friendly and show a vested interest in the resort. It’s great having the bar and food truck on site and the food is excellent! You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. “Perfect place for a quiet, peaceful getaway. Just you, the loons, the lake, and quiet. We had no cell service or wifi, (though I hear Verizon works there, which we don't have), but we loved that too me away. We saw a bald eagle, a mama deer with two babies, a mama turkey with three babies, and we saw the big dipper reflected in the smooth glass water of the lake! We loved sitting or laying on the dock at night watching shooting stars.”

“We have lived in Hayward almost 3 years now and only driven by the bowling alley. Today we stopped in. We were told the new owner has made improvements. There is a game room with pool table and arcade games. Bar area is nice size with about 10 stools. Several TV's. Menu looked like appetizers, burgers, frozen pizzas. Full bar. Lanes were busy with senior league. It was very clean and comfortable and we will stop back.”

“I have been wanting to try this place for a while and finally had the opportunity. It definitely lived up to his reputation. The food was delicious! I had the battered white fish with potatoes and a house salad. The fish was very tasty, and the potatoes simply melted in my mouth. The house salad was very fresh and quite large for a side salad. My friend had the Mushroom and Sherry Soup, along with the Chopped Salad. She raved about both. Very good coffee and the service was excellent as well. We were both very pleased with our lunch and will definitely come back.”

I would not recommend going for a buffet. Service was great, though they struggled to keep the buffet items filled. “We are locals. My husband and I went there for my birthday (12/28/22). We've been going to this restaurant for years (with many owner changes) and while I've always enjoyed the food, the new owners prepare food that I'll dream about (lol) it was so good! Every single item was delicious! I had the Fajita Jalisco and my husband had the Shrimp Enchilada's. I enjoyed a large Golden Margarita which was also good! We tried a couple of dishes as sides; I recommend the Mexican Sweet Corn and the Chunky Guacamole - both make great dips for the chips as well as a side dish. I like the way they have opened up the walls of the restaurant. You can see the bar area from the door, the additional seating area is open as well as a view into the kitchen. It makes if feel more spacious. The staff were prompt and friendly! If I could give 10 stars I would.”

“Loved this place! My partner and I joked how we’d be perfectly happy to have our wedding here. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food is heavenly. We tried their garlic parmesan chicken wings, brisket, and pulled pork. All just as good as the next! I’m not a huge wine person, but I tried their signature strawberry wine and ended up buying 2 bottles to take home. The vibe is very easy and relaxed. I’d recommend to anyone in the area!”

“Stayed here for 4 nights during a snowmobile trip and couldn’t have been happier. The staff was beyond helpful with all of our questions. All of the bartenders and servers were extremely nice. The best food hands down on the flowage. Try the mac n’ cheese, pizza, and bone-in wings. And if you’re lucky enough to get the homemade soup before it sells out, you won’t regret ordering it!! “We greatly enjoyed our weeks stay at Deerfoot. We stayed in one of the motel units, which served our needs well. We found the entire property to be clean and efficient. The staff was approachable, available and friendly. And the bartenders in the lodge were extremely friendly and helpful. Plus our food was cooked to order and tasted great. The live music on two afternoons was an unexpected welcome bonus.”

“Stopped for our first Friday Night Fish Fry here and we were pleasantly impressed overall. It was quiet busy and they appeared somewhat short staffed, but we were waited on fairly quickly. Our waitress was outstanding! Very friendly, kind, and attentive. She made our dining experience very pleasant. Their fish fry is all-you-can-eat Walleye, not Cod. The first course is 2 pieces of wonderful, soft cranberry bread and a small serving of coleslaw. The fish arrived and it was not only pleasant to look at, but taste as well. It was accompanied by a side of fries, 2 lemons, and 2 servings of tarter sauce. The fillets were beautifully cooked, long, and aside from a couple hard bites on the ends were everything you hope for in a fish fry. Aside from a pesky fly, and a fruit fly the meal and the service were superb. Highly recommend their fish fry and kudos to our amazing waitress! We will return. The Landing puts on a great Friday Night Fish Fry. We look forward to our next visit. UPDATE: We stopped here again for Friday Night Fish Fry and unfortunately this time had a very poor experience. It was extremely busy and we had to get on the waiting list which is understandable. After waiting 30 minutes we were given a table. The waitress we got was anything but pleasant. No smile, no friendliness, just a really poor attitude and was extremely short with us. We've dealt with her in the past and she seems to be really angry at the world. Her demeanor was so bad that it actually ruined the night for us and we didn't want to have to deal with her any further. We left before ordering our meals after she initially waited on us. Due to the horrible interaction we had with her we have had to adjust our review. We are unsure of whether we'll be dining here again for fear of being waited on by her. A real shame because we really enjoyed our food the last time we dined there.”

The Bar and Grill was very busy on Sat and Sun with the beautiful weather and live music, but their team was hustling. Good job by everyone. We stayed in Cabin 9- perfect for a relaxing get-a-way.
