“This place used to have the best fish fry in the area. It’s still good just not hands down the best anymore. Don’t get me wrong, It still is one of the top 10 fish fry’s in the country. Closes early and geared to the older crowd. The place closes its doors at 8 but by 7 they are gearing down. Good drinks (not the best), good food (again, not the best), good people (friendly before 7), just don’t go near closing time because these people clearly value their sleep. Definitely worth going if it’s early. We try to stop in once a month if we can. One thumbs up with a smile.”

“Great food, atmosphere and waitress. Went Sat night. Hubby and I had veal with mushroom sauce. Fabulous. Sister had walleye and just as good. Had spinach artichoke dip as appetizer and also pleased. Jen our waitress was very attentive and checking to make sure all was ok. We noticed all staff very attentive. Second time we were there . Missed the man that passed out hand puppets. Oh and drinks also very good. Will definitely be back again. Want to try fish fry.”

“Ended up here after finding our 1st choice was closed. I'm Glad we did, They make their own pizza crust and it is great! Really good food, the bartender (we sat at the bar because it was later like 10:30). The woman who was working was very friendly and nice. The service was good, the price wasn't bad and the atmosphere was inviting. I'll definitely come back!”

“Have been searching for a top-notch burger since moving to E.R. a few months ago...found it! Had an awesome mushroom Swiss hamburger at Pine Gables today, cooked to perfection. Also a big thumbs up to their homemade French fries, some of the best I've eaten anywhere! Many delicious choices on their menu will hasten my return visits. Service was flawless also, Lorie was cordial, attentive and well prepared in offering today's specials, including dessert suggestions that sounded amazingly tempting. Highly recommend stopping in to sample one of the newer dining experiences in this area!”

“The beer cheese soup by chef Red was some of the best soup that I have ever had. The barbecue sauce for the ribs is also terrific. It has its own taste and is not out of a bottle. Highly recommend the garlic mashed potatoes are a great choice for a side. Will definitely be coming back.”

My fiancé got a hot The Nutty Squirrel and same verdict—he loved it. Not overly sweet with hints of chocolate and peanut butter. Sad we found this place on our last day in town!”

“Stopped in for a quick breakfast, but had to wait 20 minutes to get in on a sun morn. There's a reason we had to wait.... well it is tiny;) and it is is popular.. Jen is Northwoods friendly and efficient, the cook is right there in front of everyone and the veggie skillets we had we're superb!!! Vegetables were all cooked just right. Highly recommended A go to place for us in our annual trip up north”

The chicken, steak, and shrimp were all cooked to perfection and the onions and peppers had just the right amount of char. My wife also got a margarita and was feeling it by the time she was halfway through. Well worth it and respectable prices.
