The way different workout activities were executed didnt make me feel too tired or burn out after a High Intensity Interval Training ( HITT). Loved the workout summary and the way Coach Chantal led the session and addressed questions after the session.

I did one trial workout, so I can only speak to that and to the experiencing of signing up, changing my mind and cancelling.

    PROS:

Really friendly staff. The in-person service is quite good and I think the shortcomings described under CONS are due to OT policy, not the fault of the staff.

Using the HR monitor was motivating and kept the workout interesting.

The workout was solid. I've been more sore after my first HIIT boot camp class at the YMCA, but you can get a great cardio workout from OT.

    CONS:

As noted elsewhere, OT is famously secretive about its pricing, which varies by location. Other gyms have different pricing per location and still publish their rates...

The gym was newly opening after COVID closures when I did a trial class, which may be why I didn't get copies of my contract and invoice until I asked. But that did reinforce the feeling that OT would rather you not look at the details too closely.

    PRICING & ADVICE:

In Oakville, the class-based package rate is about $20-$25/class. This is on par with, say, a yoga class... so not unreasonable.

    Membership levels are:

    - Basic (4 classes per month) @ $89
    - Elite (8 classes per month) @ $139
    - Premier (unlimited) @ $189 per month

You will have to buy an OT heart rate monitor. The contract says you can rent, which I would advise you to do until you're sure you'll stay with OT.

I was offered about $85 off the first month as part of a two-month promo, with the purchase of the $129 armband HR monitor.

You cannot return the HR monitor if you change your mind.

Taking in all of this pricing information and the promo verbally, after a workout, is a little intense. I would recommend you get it in writing, take it away and think about it.

You CAN cancel within 10 days of receiving the contract for a full refund of all membership fees, less any classes you have used. You do not have to give a reason or fill out a cancellation form. (They may insist you fill out the form but there's a section that says they can charge you for another month, so I wouldn't sign that part.) You just have to email or otherwise provide cancellation in writing. This 10-day cooling-off period applies by law to all Ontario gyms/fitness memberships.

Personally, I think OT should just be transparent about the pricing on their site -- it's premium but in line with comparable group classes. I suppose they've calculated that not being transparent is more profitable...

Great workout! It keeps you moving with the rotation on the three stations and the coaches are great!!
