“Excellent! Nice to have a relatively upscale restaurant in the area that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Staff was friendly and pleasant. Flo, our waiter, was extremely nice and stayed on top of things. I had the shrimp po-boy and we wife had the catfish basket. Both were better than we have had in central Alabama. Price was reasonable. The only complaint I have is that they charge a 3-1/2% fee for credit card payment. In todays business a fee for credit card use is rediculous.”

“The quality of the food was excellent. The customer service was sub par. After we were seated it took about 10 minutes for our waiter (young Hispanic guy) to get our drink order even though the restaurant was near empty on a Tuesday evening. After getting our drinks, we were never given straws. We asked for lemons but was never given any. We were given dirty salsa bowls. Our waiter seemed very lazy and seemed to avoid us. The table next to us was filled with dirty dishes for the entirety of our dinner. I'm only giving 3 stars because the pregnant lady and the older gentleman were very nice.”

“The food is delicious I had the grilled shrimp. The service was excellent considering there was only the owner and no help. She cooked and served and never missed a beat. If your in the area I would definitely recommend you stop in and have lunch.”

“Great food & service! Menu prices up a few pennies but the food quality is so superior that it more than makes up for this slight Inflation. Always have the Swiss burger & fries, loaded with gravy, onions and mushrooms and it's beyond delicious. Enough for quality leftovers. I order mine in a to-go box because I know it's going home with me!”

“Like you were visiting your grandmother. This food is so good that we bought a whole pan of dessert and a bunch of wings to take back to our children and grandchildren. This food is so good you will be licking your fingers! So as we waited for our extra order they gave us a tasting on the side. Plenty of people coming in who must be regulars cause they all talked like family. You need to experience this restaurant and the warmest service we have ever had. If I lived here I would eat here every day.”

“Enjoyed chopped pork sandwich and baked beans. Beans were ok and the pork was good. Seemed like it was cooked with a dry rub and came salt with two pickles on top of the bun wrapped in paper. No onion rings at this time. They had a rib sandwich but it was marked out. I would stop here again, it was a good sandwich.”

“One of the nicest looking Mexican Restaurants I have ever been to for sure. I had the Steak and Chicken Fajitas without onions and peppers with Mushrooms and was delicious. Seasoning was good along with the refried beans very tasty. No complaints definitely recommended trying. Queso was good but would have liked little more spiciness will make sure I ask for for spicier next time. Server was very nice and attentive and the food came out fairly quick. Mgr came and asked me how things were so that's always a good sign that they care. Anyway if your in Greenville definitely try them out!”

“Food is still GREAT, but workers /cashier's were not wearing masks. I am worried about the lack of pandemic precautions. I wanna stay healthy to continue to be able to go here. UPDATE: 12/2020 Best BBQ I have put in my mouth. Outside of does not look like it would be much for BBQ place, but it is the best kept secret in the area.”

“Normally I love Zaxby's but today it was super crowded, long lines, shortages on drinks (no lemonades) and they didn't give us "kids meals" for the kids. Instead they put the kids meal's food in one big bag without the cookies and without two of our fries. My salad was good but the kids all were disappointed.”

“Good food - service is none too fast, but the couple who run the place is nice. Prices have increased - expect to pay $10/person for a meal. They have large and regular sandwiches - specify or they'll give you large. Cash only!! Located right next to a shell station that has an ATM/bathrooms. Covered outdoor seating is nice. Lots of cats!”

“Just don't like the fact that the owner stops what a customer can order one hour before closing. What is the purpose of a menu?”

“I wen to New Orleans driving from Atlanta. Driving back to Atlanta we stopped at Old Mexico restaurant. The food was good. I love my chips and salsa. My server was awesome. It was a very busy day. The food took a long time to arrive to the table but I completely understood. Many restaurants are suffering from short staff/workers. I really enjoyed my experience at Old Mexico restaurant.”

“You know I’ve been coming to Bates House of turkey since I was a kid. And I imagine there are thousands of people like me that grew up on the gulf coast with relatives north of Greenville Alabama that have made Bates House of turkey or regular stop their entire lives. Consistently the best yet most simplistic turkey sandwich on the planet. Put the pickles in the chips on top and you’ve got a great sandwich that has been a regular stop forever. Lots of other good things there too Such as their turkey dinner plates and their stuffing and their turkey chili. It’s uniquely Alabama and a wonderful tradition and consistently delicious. It’s a generational thing I hope will always be there.”
