“I was having a horrible day and rewarded my self by not cooking dinner by ordering Pizza. I called in, right after hanging up with DOL ,(which to anyone having to deal with during these trying times will understand is more than frustrating). A REALLY NICE MAN answers the phone asks for my address and teasingly says, "this sound like a prank call, I don't know", poor guy. I in my less then jovial mood, thought he was serious, gasket flipped, and I had to hang up as I started bawling. Taking a deep breath, I called back, apologized and he took my order, with me apologizing for my emotional breakdown with my favorite pizza joint. He sent cakes. For free. Whilst I do not suggest this technique for getting cakes. Know that every one is stressing this time and the compassion that Guido's staff took was above and beyond. THANK YOU!!!! “So in terms of just Pho, this place didn’t have the variety of toppings and choices we are used to down in Seattle. However, what they had was pretty good. Good broth, good noodles, and fresh toppings. They also have a little jar of hot sauce and spicy oil, both were surprisingly good and tasty. The hot soup hit the spot for the end of the day.”

“Great service on most days, but today they went above and beyond. I did an online order for a few platters in the morning for that afternoon only to find when I got there it accidently scheduled for the next day. Hated to ask, but asked the manager if they could make it for me and she got right on it. They were done super fast and made it happen! So greatful as this was actually a donation for a local charity, so thank you to the manager and her team for helping us in a tight spot!!”

“This restaurant is as old as I am. That means that it has done a good job feeding the people of Anchorage and they've done it for a long time. It has that old Mexican Villa feel the food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. The Margaritas were yummy and the service was great. “If you're visiting Alaska, you should go just because it's an Anchorage Institution. Walk around the whole place, have a beer, grab some great pizza, and maybe get a t-shirt. Take in the environment while you can, but it's going to be extremely crowded during events and late night weekends. “I was at the saturday market today, and was feeding my kids next to their food cart and I overheard someone order beignets and I interrupted their transaction( which I am sorry for)and said I have lived here for almost 10 years and have never seen any place sell beignets. The owners gave me some for free and I am still very appreciative. They even gave a couple a bottle of free water for their dog. I don't see this often and it made my day. The beignets were AMAZING, crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. If the owners read this. Again I am so thankful for your beignet treat. And your kindness that i witnessed today Bless your family and company”

“Great dinner and WAY more than just pub grub. This little place is very unassuming. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent. The decor and atmosphere is slightly dated, yet still manages to be cozy. You can tell this place has its set of regulars, probably several who even live in the building. Only recommendation would be to the staff to make sure that they don’t get so caught up in conversations with the regulars that they forget about the customers who aren’t regulars. We had to flag down the waitress or bartender a few times after we received our meal to get refills, or order dessert, and then also for the check. They seemed to be super friendly but were pretty easily caught up in conversation with the bar regulars. Would certainly come again though and will!”

“Sara's Sandwiches is a great place to get a sandwich, soup, and salad. Ordering is simple using a piece of paper, circling what you want. Sara's Sandwiches appears more like a deli with all those great sides like egg salad. The fountain drinks come with refills and the seating is basically outdoor furniture. “So tonight, my 3rd time ordering from here, I am a loyal customer. Not only have I been treated to exemplary customer service, I have been treated like a person. Their food is great and the portion size is very good. But their delivery drivers are amazing! I was picking my fiancee up from work and the time ran a little longer than expected. As we were heading back home we got a call from the driver saying he was here. We let him know we were a few minutes out and my brother could take the order if he was allowed to. He quickly explained the policy that prevented this and that he would wait for just a few more minutes for us. ***15 minutes later*** I pull up to my house go see this, I would say saintly, person standing with our food. He was all smiles and "no worries" and just really amazing towards us. So if you have a hankering for chinese food, don't want to break the bank and want to be treated like a human being, order from here and you will not be disappointed.”
