“Upon entering I knew we had made the right choice. Not an empty seat in the house and a line waiting to be seated. But I was starving, I didn't' want a long wait. We did not wait long before an entire squad of employees took control of the situation with military precision. Outdoor dining was open and empty so everyone in line that wanted was immediately seated outdoors. Within two minutes we had menus, place settings and drink orders taken. Minute three; drinks arrived and food order taken and a few minutes late our meals arrived. Never have we eaten at such a busy place and been served so quickly and courteously. The highlights were the service, and a layout with lots of outdoor activities and seating so that family groups could celebrate together while kids played away from the table. An outdoor bar without too many TVs also helped make this terrific for families with elementary age kids, but want adults to be able to talk. Active, but without being to noisy. We visited on a beautiful spring evening after sundown. In the summer, heat might be hard to manage.”

The fish at Pure Poke is the freshest and they really go to town with their special sauces that they make in-house. I love the cucumber salad with the dressing. “I must say that it has been a while since i have had the delightful taste & aroma of jamacian food being prepared as well as that taste. Grandma used to make the most delicious foods i grew up having the honor of chewing and eating every week. From oxtail to curry goat to coconut drops, she went the full spectrum to give me tastes from her home and i loved them. I get that same from this place. The curry goat is just as she made it as well as the curry chicken. And my favorite part...the rice! Oh my gods and goddesses...this is the best part of the plates here. Having that combination of the meats crossing over with the rice in your mouth is a sensational event. With the reason for my grabbing this meal being a celebration of my youngest son turning 12, i went for the meal from here. It was a delight that brought me back in time as well as gave good vibes out to my son & my grandmothers memory. Give this place a shot if you have similar memories of growing up with a family from Jamaica or even if you wonder what the tastes of the West Indies is like. You will not be disappointed”

“I tried this place today for the first time and I have no complaints. The service was great from the beginning and the food was delicious. I got a carne asada taco and a barbacoa caramelo. The caramelo was dripping, it was so juicy and flavorful with every bite. The carne asada was tasty, especially with some salsa on top. I love that they have a self serve section for the cabbage and onion in case you don't like either of it. Full recommendation from me.”
