“Linda and I discovered Marti's Place -- Alameda's very first "green" restaurant -- when we moved to an apartment a block away in 2009. We have enjoyed breakfast there regularly ever since. Grilled fish tacos are literally the best anywhere in North America and I’ve made a point of trying them anywhere I go. Fresh lunch specials every day usually up to three choices. Oscar is the best guy you’ll ever meet. Plus his brother Rudy is awesome. Nicest people. Take the time to say hello. Also, reading other reviews: be a tiny bit patient. Take a buzzer, find a chair and just wait a little bit for your food. It will be so worth it. Oh, breakfast burrito—delicious, and the California Burrito is a giant splurge for lunch. You won’t forget them.”

“I have visited twice the first time with a party of 8. We had a wait of about 20 minutes. The waitstaff was helpful and friendly. They took our orders and got the food out to us as quickly as possible. They did a great job making sure they got the order correct. The food was tasty. Worth the wait. The second time...the wait for 2 people was much longer. The waitstaff ignored us and the food was undercooked and burned at the same time. I guess you have to go on the right day...not a HOLIDAY!”

“Great Korean barbecue. I got the spicy beef stew (extra spicy) with rice, shrimp tempura, and Bowl’d wings to go. Take out took about 20 minutes so I had a beer at the bar while I waited. All of the food was fantastic, especially the wings. I could eat those wings every day. All in all it was a great experience. I will be back!”

“We had a big party. The food was great. Not sure why the left dirty dishes at our table, even after we asked several times for them to come and remove them. Customers don't like to sit and eat with dirty dishes around them. When someone is finished with their plate.. remove it. Anyway the food was amazing. Get the Lion. Get 2 lions. They are even good the next morning. If not for the the service it would have been 5 stars.”
