“The omelettes are outstanding, easily the best I've had anywhere. The Doug's Omelette is my favorite, but every one I've tried has been excellent. The ingredients are fresh and flavorful-- big chunks of real avocado, mushrooms, and tomato, and they don't skimp on the cheese. Plus, they allow substitutions if you're feeling picky or indecisive. They're awesome like that. And, whatever you choose, the results are so, so tasty. I've never been a huge omelette fan, but this place made me a believer. Their omelettes are so good that, even though I've been here more than a dozen times, I can't speak for the other items on their menu. I tried a waffle w/ strawberries and whipped cream once, and it was okay -- nothing to write home about. I'd guess that savory items are more their specialty. Service is good. Polite and helpful without being overbearing. Decor is definitely "old-school diner". The sign out front says it was established in 1978, & the ambience inside bears that out. But it's relaxed and clean (enough). Plus, you can get your food "to go", which is always a bonus for me.”

“I went in for the first time since it’s opened, it was pretty busy but I really wanted to try the pizzas here. I walked in everyone was inviting! The wait in line wasn’t so long. 11 inch pizza with unlimited for 1 price that’s pretty crazy when you think about. When I got my pizza. It just looked really good. The general manager on duty Erica was really funny and cool, along with the shift leader Luigi. My overall experience at mod was amazing. I will definitely be coming again!”

“This was my first time eating here since I'm not a local and travel for the company that I work for. My first impression once inside was great since it was very nice and gave me a comfortable feeling. The staff were all polite and never left me feeling ignored. I ordered steak, mixed vegetables and a loaded baked potato. I didn't have to wait forever before the food arrived and my steak was cooked exactly the way I ordered it. I was also impressed by the amount of food that I was served. The "big chain" steakhouses leave me disappointed most of the time with tiny cuts of meat and over cooked steaks. I will eat here every time I'm back in the area!”

“This is a good place for an Italian ice or slushy. If you're from the east coast, especially NY, New Jersey and Connecticut their ices are on target. They are full of flavor until the cup is emptied. I got to try one of their custard flavor, pumpkin. Very smooth and tasty. If you aren't familiar with custard ice cream, you might benefit from giving it a try. One note: the difference between ice cream and custard ice cream is the addition of egg in the recipe. There are multiple locations in the bay area.”

While there is a small amount of street side parking, there is a tiny lot in the back with a few spots as well. However, such a minor issue considering everything that's awesome about this place.”

On the downside, the service needs improvement. Ordered the California Benedict. My eggs were overcooked and I asked for a new egg with a soft/runny yolk, and waited quite a while and never got it. Call me picky but it ruined the meal for me. Left unhappy and felt like money was not well spent. The food is usually pretty good when they get it right, but I don't feel like a valued customer here.”
