“Los Cantaros has good food. It's cute on the inside and a great place to bring friends to eat. What I'm not sure about is what they're going for-- for awhile Los Cantaros was a really great quick / carry-out kind of place. They've recently transitioned to something ... in between? Not sure how to describe it, but it's somewhere between sit-down dining and order-at-the-counter... with a big bar and TV that's always playing sports. Biggest knock: a bit pricey for what it is. Love the food but a super burrito for $13 is astronomical, even for (or maybe especially for) the Bay ????♂️”

“Nice place to lounge. Actually showed up 30 minutes before they opened. Ordered My Boo flavored hookah. And had an Ethiopian tea. Great relaxing atmosphere you can have a conversation in heated patio area, while blowing hookah clouds, by Lake Merritt.”

“Staff is great, sweet. Handled our party of 6-7 really well. Food is pretty good. Not a lot of vegetarian options, which is a bummer, but the food I did have was awesome. Drinks are delicious and sake is great.”

“Fresh items with great quality! Friendly staff that get you on the way when you're in a rush. Cookies are so good and oozy. I love their variety of salads and sandwiches. The only sad part is they close at 5 on the dot.”

“The most amazing chilaquiles I've ever had. Next level taste! The service was slow on a Saturday, but most people linger here, so I didn't mark them down for that. Wide selection of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, including bottomless mimosas during brunch. I've been twice, with picky eaters, and everyone loved it.”

“Fast casual dining dine really well. Good idea is to arrive early. Grab a drink and just enjoy yourself. The seafood is fresh and the sauces are great. My favorites are the Romesco sauce and the Curry sauce. Do not miss out on the meat items either! The Oxtails are some of the best in the area.”

“Now that I ate at both locations, I am amazed how good, efficient, customer friendly the operation is. Managers can truly pet themselves on the backs for the job well gone: hiring right people and training them well. $10 gets you a damn good burger and excellent garlic fries. A haven for a garlic nut like I am. Moreover, you also get condiments including superb pickles and sauerkraut which you find nowhere else.”

“I had a carnita plate with some flour tortillas....quite possibly the best carnitas I've ever had. Very friendly atmosphere! There's construction work going on around the corner so lunch is a bit busy with workers....but they will make room for you. Don't pass on this place....well worth the squeeze!”

“I love the pizza. I’ve ordered the Hawaiian, and combination. Their calzones look great but I haven’t ordered one yet. Its never busy and it’s the most affordable place I’ve been to in this area-and the pizza is the best! I enjoyed it much more than Leaning Tower Pizza.”

“Small menu, food is average vegetarian fare. Chicken and waffles was ok, babe burger was better but fell apart instantly. Tater tots were average taters. Service was nice but very very slow. Interior was interesting, but very Loud. Not a place to go have a conversation. No parking. Sometimes hard to find a seat. Long bathroom lines. Bathrooms a bit dirty. Interesting art show going on. Mainly young hipsters. I like the 100000% gay comment on the menu! Definitely a “try once place”.”

“Super crowded, very popular. Best tip...find a spot at the bar and order food there. The whole menus is available and the service is fast. Plus you get a front row seat to all the action. Food was pretty good, not amazing. Bartenders with a little attitude, but may be part of the deal.”

“Great local spot. Strategically hidden near car dealerships on Broadway. Loved the ambiance, happy hour from 4pm-10pm is rare in this part of town. The food is good and service is excellent. If you're looking for a place to meet up with friends or for a nice dinner for two this is the spot.”

“While it was great to discover a new cafe in my neighborhood, I was so disappointed in the Mexican rice I bought. It was overcooked & mushy for over five dollars. However, I got their pamphlet of small businesses that female owned in Oakland!”

“This set-up is right outside Piedmont Grocery steps from lot and entrance. Management wanted to give it a try to guage demand. It's not available everyday only Fri/Sat/Sun. Menu has for choices listed with tri tip sandwich as the more popular choice. Here's how its done. Select your choice and you'll receive a sticker with items listed. Pay inside and bring receipt back. Once verify, your order will be assembled for you. I got the tri-tip sandwich with everything. Juicy and tender tri-tip with a little char burnt taste on hoagie bun. Bun was toasted on grill provided a nice crisp crunch while juice seeping in bottom bun. It's a great way to grab a bite without having to stand in line waiting to pay. You know how that is sometimes. Person in front has a full basket, but all you've is sandwich and a drink. ”
