“I’ve been here for many a birthday meal and they have never ever disappoint. Their pastas are always super freshly made and sauces always absolutely delicious. I have yet to have a bad dish here. “I have been going to this place since the early 1980s. Very consistent with the recipe- great flavor. Very authentic. I truly miss the one located on Lakeshore Avenue. I guess it's hard to compete with Chipotle right across the street. I just hope and pray that the Burrito Shop find a location somewhere in Oakland soon. Parking can be challenging here sometime especially during lunch hour so just keep that in mind. But overall is worth the weight if you have time. I believe they have call in orders as well. I highly recommend to steak burrito! Yummy yummy truly taste good to my tummy!????????”

We often think of corn as bland because it's been so stripped down and industrialized, but corn with true heart is alive and well here. I never thought I would enjoy a seafood dish where I have to pick apart the shells, but the shrimp bisque-like dish on rice was unbeatable.”

“Yum! Marica is top of our list. They took a change in direction to make the vibe more casual and focus on pizza (which I'm sure was delicious), but I am happy to say they have the old menu of seafood and meat dishes. This time we had mussels (delicious butter sauce and bread for sopping) and calamari (rare quality that can be lightly pan fried rather than deep fried - excellent texture and flavor). Old favorites include lamb and scallops. We didn't get the chocolate souffle this time, but it is truly incredible (insider tip: you have to order this when you order your main dish). Palomas were great as well - fresh squeezed grapefruit, of course.”

“Nice decor, kind and fast service, and average food. The chicken pho had very little chicken, and the broth was a bit watery. It was still good, and had a lot of tofu in it. The spring rolls were really good. The grilled pork noodle bowl was also delicious. Very large portions. I was craving a sweet drink, so I got fresh sweet soy milk. It was not very sweet, so I ended up going to mr. green bubble for a taro milk tea.”
