Our pandan cake was delicious and would definitely have again. (It was a bit sweet though for my liking) They also serve some high quality tea here to go with the desserts and I find that wonderful. “So happy with my experience that I had to share. I emailed on Thursday to see if they could accommodate a last-minute request for a vegan cake or cupcakes. Didn’t hear anything by Friday, so I called in the afternoon. I talked to Rebecca the baker, and she made it clear that she wanted to find a way to make it work. We ended up with 18 cupcakes in my desired two different flavors that we picked up when the store opened. They were a hit with both kids and parents, and I thought the prices were quite reasonable. “Bagels always taste good, coffee is good if you’re wanting a basic cup, but I had a giant hair in my nova lox! Was smushed right on the tomato and hanging out of it- gross! Everyone working had dark hair except one employee. She seemed flustered when she kept asking people what was on their order and asked me what other sandwich I had aside from what I ordered (only had one sandwich). Start with keeping all your hair pulled back, including the little side bits, and breath. I’ve never had any issue here so that’s why it’s 3 stars.”

“Place looks kind of dark inside like it's not open even though there's an open sign that says it is open. The chia latte is not too hot but it's good. The pastries are pretty good. My mom's mint latte didn't really taste much like mint. Edit: I looked back at the receipt and found out that it was a vanilla latte and not even a mint latte. We got served the wrong drink. My mom also complained to me that it was not hot but they did offer her a replacement for her wrong drink.”

“Been coming to this place for about 3 years. Its a family business which brings a warm welcome. The owners are really friendly and sweet. Every time I go, we have some nice conversations. Anyways, I usually go for the breakfast sandwich. The breakfast sandwich consists of ham, sausage, egg, bacon and cheese all in warm croissant. It’s a really good sandwich. They also have lunch sandwiches that I try here and there. Something that would help with their lunch sandwiches is if they offered pesto in them. That’s just my personal opinion. Great place.”

“After all these months, finally got my Dim Sum fix at Tao Yuen pastry. Prices have gone up but food is still tummy. Lines are shorter and obviously masks & social distancing are mandatory. Don't be shocked, most of Oakland Chinatown and Downtown are still boarded up from the Black Lives protest. Looks like a war zone and some businesses seem permanently closed. While I want to support them, frankly between the parking hassle and the increased price, I'd rather get a piping hot dish from my local Chinese restaurant that has curbside pickup.”
