“This place is amazing! The staff doesn't discriminate against weird people like myself! The service is awesome! And I definitely owe them one! Which is why I'm giving them an all 5 star review! Thank you staff of peetes coffee! You've really given me hope in humanity again!”

“A big local favorite it is always bustling. There is a nice tree outside so people can sit outside with some shade, and there are ALWAYS folks sitting outside, people watching, chatting. This location was renovated in the last few years so it has warm food, mobile pick-up, and a bit of a facelift. Has some tables and chairs inside as well but it's not a huge location.”

“Love the idea of this place. Many desserts here that you simply cannot get at other places. The person working while we were there was very nice as well! Our pandan cake was delicious and would definitely have again. (It was a bit sweet though for my liking) They also serve some high quality tea here to go with the desserts and I find that wonderful. This place is a tea party on steroids. Would recommend checking out for fun with friends!”

“First experience with Ethiopian foods!! So light, healthy, and fresh, everything tasted homemade and fluffy but also crisp and natural, left a great taste in the mouth and a weightlessly bouncy belly, the tea was exquisitely spiced with exiting exotic flavors, wish more foods had character like this while being friendly to the diet! The pictures are of the Ethiopian breakfast and California croissant, we also had some decadent yet light baklava and sambusa to-go as well! The drinks were an Ethiopian iced tea which was full of life and flavor without being sugary and a hot chai latte which was comfortingly sweet and spicy. It was a quiet cafe-ambience atmosphere with gorgeous lighting and cool location, perfect for brunch! The staff were all so nice and came to check in on us and inspire us with insight in their beautiful culture! We will be coming back 😋”

“Workers are super friendly and kind! Just knocked 2 stars because every single outlet is blocked off. Very disappointed and upset. I needed to do some work and my laptop dies and needs to be plugged in. Won’t be returning:(”

“Really enjoying this place. I've had a few meals because I work near by, but I've come in a few times as well now. The staff is always pretty nice. Especially the coffee maker person. Always clean tables. Lots of places to sit. The house made pickled onions on the avocado toast drive me wild! Fast service, clean restrooms, outdoor seating available. My only gripe is there are a weird amount of dogs every time I come to this place. So there's a bit of fecal visibility and noise while you eat/chat but not the restaurants fault. Definitely come check this place out. Bring your dog.”

“Recommended by our nurse - who overheard our conversation post checkup and chipped in gasping with full blown passion “you guys looking for a bakery nearby? Baker & Commons!” So 5 minutes later we met this neighborhood gem - a vivid yellow little beautiful bakery at the corner of Russell & College. It’s not the everything-perfect type of bakery that wows you with flawlessness, but it’s charming nonetheless exactly because of its laidback attitude and the tolerance of imperfection - just like HOME. You care less, because you can be real. It features home baking goods, in pan, in tray, in down-to-earth paper cups and containers; its latte is in a bowl (kinda cute); it picks seasonal fruits and turns them into golden shiny turnover; it slices tiramisu upon order. Dog friendly. Kid friendly. Book nerd friendly. Life long relationship friendly. If you didn’t fall in love at first glance here, that’s fine, you will gradually sink in, gently.”

“Popular outdoor hangout with excellent coffee beans. Locals swear by this being the best of the four nearby. Not a lapbook insight!”

“Barista didn’t make the drink correctly. Ordered a Havana Cap. Condensed milk was all at the bottom. Other Peets location mixes it with the hot espresso before pouring. Makes a huge difference in drink experience.”

“Ive been coming here for years whenever im in town and the service and quality has always been great. However, today it took almost 30 minutes to get two lattes, even tho the place was almost empty. They were busy filling online orders and ignoring the people who actually order in person. The place was almost empty, but virtually packed.”

“Jessie is the "master" crafter of my awesomely concocted dark chocolate mocha. Only one other barista has built my drink so nicely and that's Emma at the Orinda Cafe. Thank you to you both. Arriba!”

“So happy this place showed up in San Leandro! I loved the Hayward location, this one does not disappoint. The McLovin sandwich is a perfect marriage of spice and savoriness with the Chipotle mayo, peppery sausage patty and gooey cheese (I got cheddar). My partner in crime enjoyed his medium roast coffee (no frills for him). He looks forward to trying the cold brew next. That fact that he wants to come again means Hippies Brew has won over my coffee connoisseur. I ordered the peppermint mocha, blended. My sweet tooth is dying so I requested 25% sweet and no mocha drizzle. I actually love that they put actual peppermint leaves in the drink! It added to the earthiness of it all and did not distract from the coffee flavor. My new favorite spot. Can't wait to bring others.”

“This has been my favorite place in San Leandro ever since they opened. The drinks are good the food is good and they have games like air hockey that you can play at no extra charge! My favorite is the ice cream crepes! And the owner is super nice!”

“One of our favorite snack place to hit around town! They always keep the place nice and clean. Easy to order at the counter although they do have kiosk to order as well. But I like to order with the cashier since today we’re trying their soft serve snack, mini q and melon jelly. Not too sweet and just right We’ve also tried their mini q brown sugar boba We normally order their icy grass jelly desert Whenever it’s hot, we would also go here”

“Presentation & taste of crepes was good, but hot chocolate & ice-cream were way too sweet. I couldn’t drink/eat it. My son had some hot chocolate, so he got nauseas after that & wanted to puke when we left. Decor also could be improved to make it cozier. Since name is French, some French decor would be nice. I lived in France before, so it would have warmed my heart. The servant also forgot to bring our son’s food.”

“I’ve been coming here all my life. Since they were open, while I was in High School. The food has always been excellent. I always order either iced jasmine green tea with calamari. The service is fast, especially the Cashier lady. She always welcome me and showed me how to order to save money. She is very nice and friendly. We order here every week.”

“I think it's a decent coffee shop in the neighborhood. The interior is spacious and comfortable, and the employees are friendly. It is used by a wide range of age groups, and after 2:00 p.m. is considered a crowded time. And best of all, the coffee tastes good.”

“Loved the popcorn chicken and especially the jasmine milk tea. Very good service and great ambience and very clean. I came here with family and the kids loved it. One of the best popcorn chicken and garlic fries I had. Better than any other place. Very fresh. Glad I found a nice new place in the neighborhood.”

“Ordered just some blended coffees.... I got the chai. My husband got the mocha. The whipped cream is no bueno but the chai was pretty good. Kind of grainy but the white chocolate mocha was really good.... 👍.... The atmosphere was awesome. Very halloweeny which was cool considering it's coming up Halloween.... They have natural stuff there too. Like elixirs and some different remedies for stress and mood. And everything which was pretty cool.... For the experience it was great. I probably would not go back there for the chai or the whipped cream, but everything else was pretty awesome!”

“Absolutely BOMB chilaquiles. Huge portions. Seasoned well 👩🍳💋*chefs kiss* Cooks are amazing and workers are super nice. Coffee is great too, there’s a little kick to it and it’s perfectly sweet. Not too bitter or too sweet. One of my top places to go now.”

“This is such a great place. It's design is so cute. Its a train station. It has ample seating for everyone. You always see the locals here. The food and pastries are home made. When visiting I always got moms oatmeal. I tried the chocate croissants and the cheese Danish, amazing. I tried their green monster drink. It is hethy and delicious. Everything is made when ordered so it is very fresh. The service is outstanding, some of the best customer service you can get these days. Overall rating is excellent!!”

“Bagels always taste good, coffee is good if you’re wanting a basic cup, but I had a giant hair in my nova lox! Was smushed right on the tomato and hanging out of it- gross! Everyone working had dark hair except one employee. She seemed flustered when she kept asking people what was on their order and asked me what other sandwich I had aside from what I ordered (only had one sandwich). Start with keeping all your hair pulled back, including the little side bits, and breath. I’ve never had any issue here so that’s why it’s 3 stars.”
