“Understaffed, long service/wait time. Best to order online and hope for quick pickup. This also puts extra pressure on the staff to work harder to meet efficiency metrics. I’m not sure if they just don’t have the amount of business to keep the place running efficiently. If the same person has to prepare orders in the kitchen and keep an eye out and manage the register/customers failure is inevitable. Lack of parking during the weekdays just kills their business too but that’s part of a larger problem in the Bay Area. The combo of the long wait times and lack of parking deters me from visiting more often. Friendly and delicious otherwise.”

“Dined at Lavash on Friday with friends and was pleasantly surprised. The ambience is much nicer inside than it appears from outside. Appetizers were great, as was our server (who nicely brought me vegetables for my hummus since I am gluten free). Loved the lamb and chicken kabobs, rice and perfectly streamed vegetables. My only suggestion is that they could use another server or two, as our was kept pretty busy all night.”

“So happy to have a quality restaurant by Esin in our neighborhood. What they have done to the space previously occupied by Yankee Pier is amazing!! Great decor and very lively atmosphere. We had no reservation on New Year’s Eve, but were seated at the long table, where we shared it with others. Still felt very private. Small plates dishes were all amazing. Will be going there again for sure. Service was A+. Naveed was very Attentive and pleasant. Made us feel right at home. We thank you for a great addition to the restaurants in Lafayette.”

Served seasoned and with good smokey flavor they do not necessarily need sauce, though that is available on the side. Speaking of sides the cornbread here is especially good. The last time we went they also had smoked turkey breast available but it was not on the menu so you have to ask.”

“Very interesting rolls! We tried 3 rolls that sounded different, and all were very tasty. Innovation! Their "toy roll" had gyoza in it, which turned out delicious. I've never seen that before. There was also a roll with garlic on it, which was fabulous, called the "nuclear roll". We tried a deep fried roll too, which was awesome. I highly recommend this place!”

“This is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. I’ve been going there for years now and have never had a bad meal. The service is friendly, knowledgeable with all questions regarding the menu answered without hesitation. They serve wine, have a full bar with a TV if you happen to stop by during a sports event. Chicken teriyaki, war won ton soup, cashew chicken and general’s chicken are all excellent. The location is convenient, the ambiance comfortable with 2 levels making dining more private than one large dining room. Time to give this restaurant a try, recommended. Food is fresh!!”

“It was Sunday and we wanted a nice hot lunch. Concerned that they may only serve brunch on Sunday, and not seeing any indication on their website, I called Metro and asked. I was told that I could order from both the Brunch menu and the lunch menu. When we arrived and were waiting to be seated I asked if I could look at the lunch menu while waiting and was told that they only serve brunch on Sunday. When I told the hostess that I had called 15 minutes before and was told that they also served lunch she just said "sorry". We decided to stay. I didn't want breakfast and I didn't want a sandwich and there were only a couple of hot items on the menu so I ordered the fish and chips. The chips were great. The fish, which was cod, was about the worst I have ever had. It had a nice crispy crust but the fish was completely mushy. The staff were all very friendly but inexperience. Our waiter could not even pronounce Evian when we ordered water, let alone Gruyere when my wife ordered the cheeseburger. I am not complaining about that because he was so nice and everybody has to learn, right? Side note: They must make a really good Bloody Mary because almost every table had them. Maybe we will go back and try lunch or dinner or maybe not. There are just so many good places to choose from.”

“This is a great food and drink place, but service can get slow at busy times. My steak sandwich was slow to appear and lukewarm, but very tasty nonetheless. The espresso is superb and the desserts are tremendous. Lunch time is prime time. Nice outdoor seating. Servers very friendly and apologized for slow service. Recommended if you aren't in a rush.”
