“Been here a few times now and pretty solid. Never have had to wait too long- maybe 15 minutes. Very hip and Japanese atmosphere. Get the house special ramen and its very clean, but still pretty flavorful. No complaints here! Service is good.”

“Totally Blown Away! Everything was fresh and wonderfully prepared. Had leftovers and they even boxed them for us in a very neat and secure package. FRIED BANANA TO DIE FOR!”

“We decided to stop for brunch and what a pleasant surprise! The food was good! Better than many other breakfast restaurants around Monterey/Carmel. I ordered a make your own scramble with ground beef, onions, spinach and avocado. Perfect after a tough run earlier. It was very satisfying. The breakfast potatoes were cooked perfectly, super crispy with good flavor. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy. Those were quite good too! Although the gravy could use some herbs to complete the flavor profile. Overall this was a great experience and we will definitely return! Keep it up Bull and Bear!”

“This was some of the best ramen I've had in a long time! The broth was rich and flavorful. The noodles had the perfect texture. The service was friendly and efficient. Overall, a great dining experience. This will go on our list of regular stops!!”

“The food is good and it used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant in town, but unfortunately it has changed for the worse. The last several times I’ve been here they’ve been out of necessities (soda, beer, chips, etc.) The last time I was there they were completely out of ice... Ice?! At a restaurant?... I hope they’ll manage to get things back on track and not end up like they did with their Sand City location.”

“As always, best sandwiches in town! Staff is always very friendly and helpful. The gluten-free bread they offer is some of the best. Good selection of sandwiches, and everything is excellent. A bit noisy, but they have awesome music and good drink options, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Definitely an awesome spot to have lunch on the go.”

“It's a Denny's, you pretty much know what to expect. Parking can be a bit of a challenge but it's downtown Monterey, you should have expected that. Open 24/7 so a great place to have a late meal within walking distance of most late night downtown activities.”

“I enjoyed their tapas menu. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly and their empanadas were delicious. Nice wine selection. My server was very good and had some excellent suggestions.”

“Fun atmosphere. We were there on a slow night so it was more quiet. However, I imagine on a Friday or Saturday night the place can be hopping and loud. They have wonderful booths though that are somewhat insular so I'm sure even then you could probably have a good conversation. As for the food it was just generally good. They they did a good job with the burger I had - Sans bun. Since my dining partner had the same thing I can't speak to any of their other food. But based on the care they took to make my order right I'd say their conscientiousness is and indicator that the rest of the menu was... generally "good food" ????. It seems in downtown Monterey that it's all generally average goid food... Just depends on your price range and who's got available tables. The bad ones don't stay in business long.”

“Servers were great and professional but some of the food could use a bit of help. When you're going to a Thai restaurant, I kinda expect basic things like limes, not lemons. Noodles were slightly overcooked. My pineapple fried rice was at a spice level of 3, described as American level spicy but all I tasted was heat with a lack of flavor. I added in a light soy sauce just to get in a bit of something. Presentation was nice. Appetizers were great.”

“Awesome! Outstanding, food, coffee and service(best coffee I've had in California). All locally sourced and produced. If you don't get this ethos don't go but if you do then you'll love it ????”

“I came in with 3 co-workers when we were in town for an industry trade show/festival. Most of the other restaurants around us were crowded and had 20+ minute waits. But we walked in here and we were warmly greeted and seated immediately. Service was friendly and the food was good. 1 star away from being perfect because while my dish (shrimp with spicy garlic sauce) tasted great, the texture of the shrimp was a little off. Kind of chewy and not like high quality shrimp I've had at other places.”

“Stopped in Monterey for a bite. Enjoyed the lively activity if the other patrons. Great sandwiches with a toasted gluten free roll at no extra charge. Very friendly staff and a blow pop included with each sandwich. Talk about love.”

“Healthy food. You can make your own choices. Great price. Very convenient for students....... This is not a fine dine place..... You have the option of selecting from Brown/ white rice, pinto/black beans,. Meats, 4 choices of salsa ( mild, medium, hot, very hot), sour cream, cheese and guac. Simple and delicious for lunch and dinner..... This is a chain, so available across the USA.”

“The service was nice a bit too small to go and eat there during the daytime. The hamburgers were delicious and they have lots of different sides to try out. They serve breakfast and lunch anytime of the day which is my favorite thing about this fast food restaurant.”

“First time here, and was very happy with the taste and quality of our sushi rolls. We ordered the Dragon, and Happy Island, and they were delicious. The reason I'm not giving a 5-star is because of the price, and the wait. I waited for 29 minutes to get two sushi rolls, I actually was 30 minutes over on my lunch break, and for two sushi rolls I paid $37. Don't get me wrong, the sushi tasted great, but that was a ridiculously long wait for two rolls, and to almost pay $40 for two rolls is excessive. Other than that if you're looking for a great-tasting sushi, you don't mind $17-$20 rolls, or the wait, then you really will enjoy this place.”

“They need to work on their curb appeal. Faded sign, chipped paint around doorway - we weren't even sure they were open. We were the only customers there at 5:30 pm on a Friday, which is too bad - because it really is good Mexican food! Attentive service, fresh hot chips and tasty salsa, attractive plates, not overly spicy. I hope they do some maintenance and advertising to stay in business, because we would hate to lose this local restaurant!”

“My husband and I went here on a Sunday evening. We were lucky to have no wait and were originally seated outside (our request). Once the sun went down it got chilly quick and they happily moved us inside. Our server, Paige, was friendly and accommodating. The pizza was fantastic! My husband especially loves deep dish pizzas but we have a hard time finding a place that cooks the crust on them well. This was it! The crust was cooked all the way through the middle, just crispy on the outside but not overcooked at all. We ordered a small, half heirloom, half bixby. (So nice that they allow that!) A small was perfectly sized for two hungry people who had just walked from the hotel.”

“I love Cold Stone. It's a bit pricey for I've cream, but it is yummy. Where else can you get cake batter flavor? Great location in the mall. Parking is good, yep, I recommend this place.”

“Great food at OK prices. The service good, but they use separate servers. We split a salad and my friend told me the last time she was there it came out of the kitchen that way, this time it was strictly 'drop and go' with an extra plate and it was brought out before the appetizer. The waitress was good and she did go and rescue the app, though. We'll give it four stars this time ????”

“It was good. Portions were average. The girls working looked like they were being forced to work and were quite annoyed by anything I asked or said. That sucked. But food was ok. I really appreciate good customer service though. The guy at the register was nice. We got the chicken Kabob, which was flavored well and not too overcooked. The gyro was very good.”
