“I love that Penn Valley has a coffee shop! I recently visited here twice to meet a client to sign some papers. The first day was a weekday and it wasn’t too busy (mid-day). The second day was a Saturday morning and it was packed! I’m glad to see that! The service was prompt and polite. The coffee was good. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming. Will definitely be back.”

“This is an outstanding restaurant in the Nevada City/Grass Valley/Penn valley area...probably the best. Don't be deterred by its location. Zach is a superb chef and comes from working several high end restaurants. Michael is a very friendly and gracious host. Not to be missed are the "Best Damn Soup", dirty smashed fries, and Crispy Braised Pork Belly although all the other menu items are excellent and compare favorably to any restaurant in SF.”

“To start with, the weather was beautiful! We sat outside on the patio with our group that included two big dogs. Ordered our food at the great new bar they added. (It's been a few years since I went there.) The food was excellent. I had the buffalo wings and some potato skins. YUM! friendly service and great food. Highly recommended!”

“As always ....love the salad bar! Tackroom still knows how to throw a steak on a grill but this goes to ALL of Nevada County. The restaurant industry put no stock in the eating utensils! Don't Laugh...... This is not coming from experience..... Restaurant's want their patrons to eat with prison silverware! Regardless of breakfast, lunch, or the high end restaurants. I urge the industry to raise the bar on silverware.”
