“We had a proper Italian dinner last night at Norma's Italian Kitchen. Very nice local spot. Cozy. The staff was friendly and efficient. It was delicious. I had the meatloaf special. Firm and nicely seasoned--topped with marinara sauce. It came with an enjoyable starter of minestrone soup. Table bread was good. I went with seasoned vegetables instead of pasta. For dessert I went with the cappuccino ice cream--it tasted great. I would definitely go back.”

Order the Crab and Artichoke dip as an appetizer and order the happy hour pizza (pepperoni and mushroom) to really do a number on your digestive system. I do, every Tuesday. “Visiting Rancho Mirage for the day searching for an authentic Thai restaurant, we stumbled upon Talay Thai Restaurant, and were so glad that we did. The atmosphere is very nice and the service was great. We ordered Thai tea, Tom Yum soup with fish, Pad Sum Rod with pork, and yellow curry with roasted duck. It was all very flavorful and filling. Our favorite item today was the Tom Yum soup, but it was all really great! We will definitely be coming back.”

“We dined at this restaurant as part of a recent dinner/show date night. The food was fine but not great. Steaks were decent. The service was pretty bad. We were rushed through our meal by the server who was not well-versed in the daily specials. The floor manager was camped out just feet from our table but never came by to check on us. The atmosphere was very corporate not intimate. We felt that the food was overpriced even by Coachella Valley standards. There are so many other options in the area, we plan to visit someplace else on our next date.”

“We loved this place for dinner!! They gave us a tulip for Mother’s Day and were so sweet to my daughter. We had the edamame, rice cracker shrimp and seafood Shabu Shabu which was so good! Also cucumber sunomono with octopus has this sauce that is incredible, never tasted food like that before. Had a great visit! Even the people sitting on either side of us were wonderful, many people from LA and Newport Beach who made it a point to visit. Don’t let the exterior fool you, it’s a great place!!”

However my friend's Chinese chicken salad was dull with little cabbage and greens and little herbs or scallions and the chicken was plain with no light breading or herbs to punch up the dull flavor. I remember the Chinese chicken salad from a few years ago being more colorful with greens and purple and red and yellow veggies and the chicken was crispy. Oh well some good things do end...”

“Service is always great here but today topped it from all the other times. My siblings and I took my mother out for an early Mother's Day dinner. I've never seen her so happy smiling from ear to ear about how great the service was. She said " Make sure you tip our waiter Terence good because he took really good care of me."
