“My wife and I spent the weekend in Half Moon Bay at the San Benito House (room #12) and loved every minute of it. If you're looking to get out of the city this is an excellent option. It's a one-stop shop; it has a full bar, restaurant serving delicious Mexican food, sandwich shop, and a spacious lawn with seating. The downtown is quaint with a string of mom and pop shops and restaurants. A little less than a mile away is the ocean with a walking path that includes great views of the coast. Keep up the good work and we'll definitely be back!”

“Had a wonderful lunch here before setting off to Big Sur. The food is fresh and clean in flavor. Really loved the korean mussels steamed in gochujang. Enjoyed a small bowl of sunchokes. Large windows and lovely views of the bay can't be beat. We walked to the outer part of the hotel and purchased a hot chocolate that we took on a walk along the bluffs.”

“Awesome little place. Friendly service. Everyone in our party of seven had food they enjoyed. The Mexican chowder is tasty and tomato based. My hubby enjoyed the trio of Mexican appetizers with two tacos and empanada. My cousin ordered best with something that looked like pulled pork but was off the Mexican part of the menu. Fries there are nice quality, not soggy. Recovering from the flu, I ordered less adventurous grilled cheese with fresh avocado and grilled tomatoes. My coleslaw was lemon instead of mayo which was nice change. Big portions. Side patio which looks good for less windy weather. We sat inside and tables are close together.”

“I’m a local here on the coast and just discovered this gem of a restaurant today for lunch. True Spanish and a Cuban influence. I ordered the Pork Belly with Brussels Sprouts w bacon and carmarchel sauce. It was so flavorful and tender. Menu changes frequently, homemade w love. Locally and seasonal ingredients. Fresh. I almost ordered the Cuban Pork sandwich. There are vegetarian meals. He used to be a chef at the Ritz in Miami. From Spain. Extensive Spanish wine. Tapas. Flavorful. Family wonderful. Affordable. A gem. No food like it on the coast or anywhere. I’ll go back frequently:”

“This place was amazing! We came for brunch. Anybody who loves brunch knows it usually happens on a Sunday. This place has it all weekend! My wife had the French toast, and I had the brunch burger. We promptly devoured our meals and had coffee and espresso. They gave us a nice little cherry sundae treat because we're on Half Moon Bay celebrating our anniversary. If I could give this place a 10 out of 5, I would.”

They have a larger menu then you would expect and the coffee bean selection is above average. “Good place on the coast right off of Highway 92 in Half Moon Bay. The fried food has a nice crispy & light batter, and the french fries are outstanding. You get bowl full of Homestyle potato chips to nibble on while you wait for food. Their clam chowder is very creamy and better than those I've tasted on the coast of Oregon. It's hard to not have an overwhelming starch or potato texture with a clam chowder. This one is excellent. I thought the crab was a little overpriced. But it is the California coast. I'd recommend this is a place to stop for a bite to eat.”
