We’ve tried both dim sum and dinner, they tasted good. And the boss Elaine and the staff are both nice, highly recommend!
Came here on a Thursday night to try out their dinner options. There was an event happening that night in the main area, so we sat near the front. All the food was good quality!
The only downside was that it was pretty pricey ($20-$25 per dish). Tea and the taro tapioca dessert at the end complementary for dinner.
Newest dimsum restaurant in downtown San Mateo. Looks like the name was changed from Kin Kan to Crown. It serves typical dimsum dishes and also dishes you find at Hongkong style restaurant. We were seated right away.It is a good place for larger groups, too. You can order tea which you usually have at other dimsum restaurant. They also have seafood like lobster.
They are plenty of items to choose from. We ordered several dishes and all taste the same as other larger dimsum places. The dimsum dishes are yummy. The chicken feed could be softer. For porridge, it uses sliced meat where most of other dimsum restaurants use ground meat. It is good. The rice roll portion is quite generous. Price wise, it is almost the same as other dimsum places, and for some item, they are cheaper. We ordered 5 dimsum dishes, a chinese donut, and porridge. It is about 55ish before tax. It is too much for 2 😀.
Overall, we enjoyed our lunch and will visit again. For now, we don't need to go to Burlingame or Milbrae for dimsum.
Ps. Some of the workers don't speak English well, so just prepare to use creative way to ask something loke we struggle to ask for white pepper but eventually the server understand.
