“More like 3.5 actually. Four of us shared 2 mini pies - Dark Chocolate Bourbon with Pecans was dark and decadent. I wish I had some vanilla ice cream to go with it. The Apple and Pecan pie had perfectly cooked, flavorful apples with the right amount of spice. I did find both the pies quite sweet, and I couldn't eat more than a few spoons of each. I'm glad we didn't order any more. The place is very cute with its warm interiors and random art pieces. The staff was friendly and gave us good suggestions based on what we said we would like. Despite that, I didn't enjoy the pies all that much. Maybe I'm just not a pie person.”

“Another happening place in downtown Petaluma, all within a two block radius. There is seating outside alongside the river, but it was cool the night we visited, so opted to sit at the bar. Like the menu and choices of beer. Friendly staff, with many locals hanging out and enjoying the atmosphere. This is more a restaurant than a beer pub, but a good choice for either lunch or dinner.”

“A little hidden gem of petaluma downtown. This place offers a casual lunch and breakfast as well as lots of different pastries. Their quiches are well known and most of sandwiches and other dishes come with a side of salad. Opens at 7:30 a.m. weekdays and 8/8:30 am on weekends. Closes at 2:30 pm on most days (or earlier if there’s a special engagement). We had a several pastries, chicken salad sandwich, spring carrot soup, and pulled pork sandwich. All very delicious and wanted to try other dishes soon. It’s not visible from the Main Street so you could totally miss it if you looking at the building number. The bistro is located behind the building and facing the river.”

“I say clean because it’s organic and fresh. Everything we had was delicious. We had the blue cheese and cherry salad with mixed greens, the fig and prosciutto pizza and the cheese burger. All of it was tasty. I didn’t feel guilty about any of it since nothing was processed. It’s quaint and good for all kinds of meals, date night, friends or family night. We were too stuffed, but their desserts looked tantalizing. I’d definitely go back.”

Atmosphere is open and inviting, not cozy or romantic in any way, but laid back and easy going. Will be back to try the meatballs. The bratwurst and desserts were very nice. The place is very clean. They are going on 5-6 months and have a sister restaurant in the City. Hoping they make it here.”

“I used to come to this restaurant before it changed ownership - and enjoyed it on those limited occasions that I could. What I especially like about the current management is the option the feel more 'casual' when I come. I also appreciate a respectable menu of appetizers since I'm not often inclined to eat a full meal. As before, the location is aces! It's one of the few scenic locations right on the river that has a photogenic view. If anyone is open to recommendations, I would strongly suggest the fish tacos - WOW, I love them!”

“I walk in the evening. One evening I stopped to have dinner at McNears before I walked. I sat outside and enjoyed my evening. The food was great, the server friendly and helpful. “Update: google won’t approve this edit but this recently is PERMANENTLY CLOSED. Won’t be reopening. Super sad about it, no idea what happened. They just closed their doors one day and that was it. Excellent healthy food option right in downtown. Food is locally sourced and SO fresh! Each dish is well thought out and unique, I can’t stop coming back here! Staff is so friendly and kind as well. Great meals for people trying to improve their food choices but not skimp on taste, especially those with intolerance to dairy or preferences on protein sources.
