The overall burgers are also good, but they were pretty oversauced in my opinion, I felt full after barely 1.5 (they are sized between a slider and a full sized hamburger), mostly because there was a lot of special sauce. “Most of you would have this as 5 ⭐'s but nobody is perfect! Went looking for cheesecake within walking distance of downtown Ventura (surprisingly this is the only restaurant around where we could find cheesecake, but it wasn't listed on Google). Well we weren't disappointed, some mighty fine cheesecake with mildly tart sauce to compliment the sweetness of the cheesecake. We set outside at the double couch and table near enough to the overhead heater to chase the chill but not be overwhelmed by the heat. It was 7-7:30 on a Wednesday evening so the street scene was active but not overwhelming. We enjoyed the cheesecake and the restaurant. I would come again.”

“This is our favorite when we're in town for business. The fish is awesome (of course!) and the sides and desserts are just as good. Great wine list and delicious cocktails. The only downside can be the wait to get a table, even on "off" nights. We were greeted with a warm welcome and a great atmosphere. Jacob was our barman as we elected to sit at the bar. He was chatty and engaging. Always willing to help. Don’t miss the New England chowder.”

“Came here for my birthday while I was in town. Dress code was enforced, there was a cover but not sure how much since it was my actual birthday they let us in for free SCORE :-) The live music was so much fun and the space was intimate. The lead singer was very crowd oriented and walked around and sang, I had a blast!! The crowd was mellow and fun, no creepy dude which is always a huge plus!! Drinks were strong and bartenders were very attentive!! This trip I was on a mission to go to all the secret bars I could and this one was definitely one I would come back to!!”

“Never have been to The Habit before my visit here. I think their burgers are pretty good. I think priced well for what they are. I still would prefer a similarly priced burger from another place but when convenient this place will do. Their malt shakes on the other hand are amazing. I get a chocolate malt and they are thick and tasty. The onion rings are really good as well. I have yet to try much on their menu but I do plan to return since it is near my traveling plans each week. If you like good burgers and shakes then I would completely reccomend coming to this or any other The Habit.”

“My husband and I come here for childhood memories and amazing fries! The fella behind the counter acts like he's harsh, but he really isn't. We asked for extra peppers and he told us that we better eat them all. We did. Ha! Anyway, really cool little place with easy food and nice prices. Get the fries with all of the peppers and...YUM! Since we eat a vegan diet we only get the fries so the rest of the food is up to you to try but this place has and has had a following for decades.”

“Right on the Ventura Pier, beach house fish is very tasty seafood spot after a nice day at the beach. Order at the counter and your food is brought to your table. We got a little off everything and it was all delicious. The best by far was the Tuna on Fire, seared tuna slices with lemon, tartar sauce, and cocktail sauce. It was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. Fish and chips is a tasty classic, made with haddock that falls apart in your mouth.”
