“The Almond Tree Grill and Lounge has been an icon in the entertainment scene since 1978. The lounge features live music, dancing and karaoke four nights a week. It's a neighborhood dive bar and a favorite with the locals. There is a small stage for live music. If cigarette smoke bothers you, I'd sit as far away from the smoking area as possible. “Came in a Sunday at lunch with I people. Was pretty much packed but they moved some tables around to accommodate our larger group. All the dishes were solid. Salt and pepper pork, green beans, fillet eggplant, roast duck, and a few others I don't remember. Parking lot is small-ish and has tight spaces. Workers don't really check in on you but that's normal for a Chinese restaurant.. oh, walnut shrimp was good too. Skip on the Malaysian chow fun next time though.”

The food is second to none, so you will have to try it. The service is great but they are still not thinking in their customers shoe and sometimes recommend lots of stuff that are good, but not really necessary. And they will charge for all those recommendations. They are not very fast. So if you are in a rush, this cool place might not be right for the occasion. And the do have a happy hour menu which offers a pretty good deal.”

“We had such a nice lunch experience. The host, Alberto and bartender/server, Niko were friendly, courteous and inviting. We had reservations at 11a and the place had a great feel to it. The lunch menu was very diverse, especially since it was a modest menu. I had a very good white peach Margarita, two to be exact. We started off with short rib taquitos witha delicious mole sauce, then had a calamari pasta dish (with an option of having a vegan version), all the selections on the lunch menu sounded good. The tres leches pound cake, that came in a ramekin, was warm and just the right size to finish off the meal. I’d definitely come back to try the whole menu. They serve dinner too! Reforma has a private room for groups and an area designated for night clubbing.”

Everyone was having an amazing time and looked extremely happy to be there. The food was okay, with an outstanding presentation, but not too different from Karinas. Large portions are a plus. I would suggest chips and salsa as courtesy like every other Mexican seafood restaurant. Overall, the team has done a fantastic job in creating a very unique experience, and just for that, I will be coming back. I have already shared my experience with family and friends.”

My shorts weren't jerked down on the price of a Yamazaki 12, a now difficult whisky to find as it becomes more scarce. Ken, the bartender embraced my passion for whisky and let me try a Togouchi 10yr on the house. Just after 6:00pm on a Tuesday the place was quite and melodic as a good music gently dripped in the background. I ordered Vegetable Ramen that I would grade a C+; with that said this is a great bar to talk with your loved one or good friend without competing over the noise of a gaggle of other people. Warm and intimate, with good drinks is where this place shines.”

“We tried this place few days ago with group of friends. For Tapas, their sizes were bigger than expected. Lani was our server and he was amazing! We ordered spicy margarita which wasn't on the menu, but they made perfect glasses for us. Food was mostly really good. Squash pasta was fresh, soft, tasty, and Zucchini was super fresh. Cauliflower was really good. Chiviche was fresh and tasty. Small short rib was of very decent size. It was tender and soft. I didn't like the fact that the tortillas that came with the short rib were super oily. Fat from the meat would have done it and the condiments that came with it also had enough fat. Potato tacos were ok. They were deep fried which I didn't like, also potato filling was very less. We also didn't care for cream cheese empanadas, it was pretty bland. Chimichuri that came with empanadas was really good. I'm dairy sensitive so I only took a bite of it, but my husband had it all and he also experienced some discomfort in his tummy. Spicy chicken wings was not that great either. You can taste the hint of spice, but it was bland. We had more food and they were all great besides the ones mentioned here for my personal taste. Overall experience was great.”

“Went with a friend to check this place out for happy hour yesterday. It was Wed at 5pm and the bar area was very low key and mellow. It got busier as time went by. There were two bartenders and service for drinks and food was okay. Enjoyed the popcorn tempura appetizer the best (we tried them all). I had the fuschia fascinator and it was good. They didn't have the apple tart available though which was a bummer. However would go back.”
