“Las Carmelita’s is a great family owned restaurant. We decided to dine here because of the reviews. They weren’t wrong! Everything we ordered was typical of Colorado Mexican food. We will definitely be back when we are in town!”

“Great to have this new option in Salida! Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of downtown’s waves of tourism, it’s a great little escape. Best views in town. Great food, great cocktails, and even better people.”

“Great atmosphere, great beverages and great food. I really enjoyed my chicken, Brie, apple panini. The bacon wrapped dates were also delicious. Appreciated having a n/a beer on the menu. We check out the athletic brewing website to find restaurants. We also loved the artwork on the wall too!”

“This place was very busy for a Thursday night however, they made accommodations and got us a table right away! Our server Lauren was probably the nicest server I’ve ever met. The grilled oysters, clam linguine, and bison ravioli were delicious! We will defiantly come back here again.”

“I’ve eaten here several times and the service and food have always been stellar. It’s so nice to have burger options besides beef. I love the Boater Burger with Bison and eventually I will try the Elk. The fries are nice and crispy and the side salad is very generous. I also enjoyed the duck tacos, but my mom wasn’t impressed. She thought there was some flavor that overpowered the duck.”

“Having lived for 7 years in Brooklyn, NY and tried every well known pizza spot in NYC I am happy to say that this pizza is on par with the best I've ever had. It has the traditional NYC style flavor profile but with the delicate constitution of a Neapolitan style pizza. The dough actually tastes developed and has the tell-tale char marks on the bottom. Truly excellent.”

“This place has the greatest patio. Faces the river right next to the bike path. Just love the ambiance! It doesn't hurt their food and drinks are really tasty and well priced also. The burgers, fried pickles, and chicken sandwich have all been delicious!”

“This place is a hidden gem! The brisket is the best around, hands down. I grew up in Missouri, went to school in Texas before moving to Colorado in 1995. These guy are no joke. Their other foods are amazing but Im partial to brisket. You won't be disappointed in the BBQ. The pulled pork is amazing as well. Seek out this spot and you'll be stoked!”

“FUN! FUN! FUN! An experienced company founded by rafters who originally did all the rafting themselves back in the day. Safety is important and following the directions of our gifted guide, Emilio, we learned to love the river, the shoreline surroundings, and all the twists and turns of mother nature. The lunch was refreshing with some large, flat rocks providing a great bench for sitting on. Exploring a bit up the land, we found all kinds of rocks, lizards darting about, a rich variety of pink, grey and sparkling rocks embedded along the sandy trails and the slim, spiky plant life you expect for this area. You do have opportunities to use a restroom in the morning, so don't be afraid!!! Along the way, our lovely river gave us both punched up fun and smooth graceful glides. Emilio amused and impressed us with his take on life and his own journey bringing him to this river. Under his leadership we worked as a team, anticipating and riding each wave for maximum fun! In the afternoon, mother nature showered us coldly with rain, but we pulled ashore for a short trail hike along the edge. Emilio provided us with additional clothing which we definitely should have rented before we set out for our trip. This was the day before my son's 17th birthday and it stands out as the best for our whole family. Thank you, Emilio, and thank you, Independent Whitewater Rafting Company for going above and beyond!”
