“My wife and I went for lunch yesterday. We drive by there daily and have talked about going there several times. We got there just before noon and were promptly seated. Our server came to the table right away for drink orders. She returned quickly to bring the drinks and take our orders. I had the chopped steak and cornbread dressing. My wife had a cheeseburger. We both commented on how good the food was. The iced tea was fresh and good. I don't know what some of these negative reviewers experienced but it is difficult to believe based on our experience. I appreciate the job that the servers and hostess do. Perhaps those unhappy should stay home.”

“Cute little spot in Salida. Jumping on a Tuesday since most other places were closed. Didn't go terribly late but they were out of many breakfast items already, so I guess the takeaway is get there early! Loved my smoothie bowl and spiced latte. Great honor system for coffee. Would be helpful to have some clearer signage about where to queue, put dirty dishes, etc. Out of the several dozen people who came through or were working there while we stayed and ate, only 1-2 besides us were masked. Didn't seem like a political choice, but a heads up if you have concerns.”

“We’ve been getting donuts to take monthly pictures of my baby. Every month, the donuts were delicious. We finished up the year by getting a giant donut to celebrate my son’s first birthday. Of course we had to have a little party, and cake was a must! We contacted KB's Kakery before our trip and placed an order for a plain, grey two-tiered cake .. and it was perfect! (we added the Baby Yodas ourselves). The cake was fresh and moist. The icing was light and fluffy and perfectly sweetened! Our boys felt so special and we all thoroughly enjoyed the dessert!”

Parking is a bit of a challenge the first time you go there, as it looks like there are no parking spots in the area behind the building, where apartment residents park. “Went with some work colleagues for lunch to Paradise Tavern for the first time. The concept of an Indian Sports Bar is new, but they pull it off. They have plenty televisions with Cricket and other sports playing. The menu has a variety of Indian Classics and Regional Dishes. There are plenty of choices for everyone. I ordered the Chicken Biryani, medium spicy. The dish takes a little time to prepare, so plan accordingly. The food came out hot and was delicious. If you are looking for good Indian Cuisine, I would recommend checking out Paradise Tavern.”

“Well I found my favorite bakery. The scones are perfect: moist and flavorful without being overly sweet. The croissants are so buttery and tender. They also have gluten-free and vegan pastries. And they do special orders for cakes, scones, muffins...anything! The prices for pastries were very reasonable (my scone was $3.25, for reference). The custom cakes are more expensive, but in line with what I've seen at other custom bakeries. And the customer service was top-notch. Loved it!”

“Stopped in today for the first time. Wanted to try the cinnamon rolls but they were not ready. Decided on the rotational roll which was chocolate cinnamon. The roll was great, not too much chocolate and plenty of cinnamon. Delightful gooey frosting, on the side, of course I used it all! The young man at the counter gave me a discount on my order, which was a very nice gesture. I will definitely be back to try the biscuits and gravy. Edit!
