“The Brushmill has finally reopened, definitely worth the wait! Beautifully decorated, we sat at the upstairs bar which happens to have wine on tap! Chef Joe Roberto out did himself ( again), the duck with Camembert onions, beets, gooseberry, what a winning combination! The King cut prime rib was one big hunk of delicious ness, medium rare, cooked perfectly! Very friendly staff, really enjoyed chatting with Patrick, Krysta, Aaron and always a treat to see Chef Roberto!”

“The Village Bistro, another GREAT addition for those who enjoy a special culinary delight in the Chester, Deep River area. We stopped in without a reservation and were pleased to be able get a table. By the time we left, it was obvious that a reservation is suggested. We tried a number of small plates to try and get a flavor of the cuisine for our next visit and we very pleased with ALL of our plates. It is noticeable when the owners and the kitchen take great pride in the creativity, quality and presentation of the menu. The atmosphere is eclectic and the property is spotless. The owners, Chelsey and Asley could not have been more accommodating. We hope The Village Bistro has a fantastic season ,we are SURE that they will and we will be back.”

“The place is small. Lots of take out at the bar. Food is good but the wait staff were slow. Had to wait too long for anyone to come to our table before and during our meal. Had a couple walk out because no one paid any attention to them sitting at the bar. Next time I think we will just do take out. Like I said food is good.”

“Went to dinner last night at this incredible restaurant. I had the Roasted Shad and others had the Rib Eye and the Tofu Bowl. All of them absolutely perfection. The Caesar Salad met my approval and I consider myself to be one of the best AUTHENTIC Caesar Salad experts. Their Caesar is authentic. Now for the dessert . . . Baked Date Pudding with Caramel-Rum Sauce -- there are no words. One has to try it to experience it. If you go just for that, it's worth the trip.”

“I moved to CT from NYC about 12 years ago. One of the things I have always said is "I miss the food." This is one of those places that makes it so I don't miss NYC and it's food! We just visited here as a post Valentine's Day date with my wife. I'm a foodie she's much more cautious about what she'll eat, however we both love an adventure! We decided to go with the 6 course Tasting Menu and boy it did not disappoint! The food was marvelous! Honestly some of the best food I have eaten in CT ever! Honestly it's on par with some of the best food I've eaten period! From NYC to San Francisco to Singapore and Spain this place stacks up in the best way possible! This will become our new go to spot with out a doubt. The Tasting Menu had many things that we had never eaten, however we both enjoyed it immensely! Out of 6 courses there was only one dish I would not order again, but even that was still good to eat. I can not say it in any other words, this place is simply marvelous!”
