“This is a place to take a date for the ambience . It is very romantic and has a nice two sided fire place burning. When we went we left the kids at home and went on one of our Anniversary. The next table was a family with very unruly children and I get it bc I have 3 kids. But we wanted to have a nice quiet evening. The waiter instantly resat us in the corner so we could have a peaceful dinner. The food is always amazing but sometimes when you have food allergies it is difficult for the kitchen to always get it right. I had a pork chop with seasoning when asked for it plain. But they remade it again to my liking and apologize for the inconvenience. This place isn't perfect but always a redo place. Love going for special occasions.”

“Ordered fish and chips. Wanted cod. They only had flounder. Wait staff was "OK". Large portions. Only wish they had cod instead of the thin flounder that was reported to be thicker than what we actually got. Food good, but have had better. Thank you for your response. I appreciate your commitment to freshness and quality. But thickness of offering was overstated, no one let us know that the option was limited to flounder, and again we have had better. Other than that, it was "OK".”

“Went from 4 stars 3. I've loved subway since I was a kid and pretty much got the same thing: a veggie sandwich on wheat. Simple but to me, delicious. However, a few months ago, they RAN OUT OF BREAD. How does a sandwich shop run out of bread?? That's what you're there for! But I thought that it's just an inconvenience and let it go because in all my years as a customer, it's never happened. That is until I went last week. They were out of bread yet again, except for tomato & herb. At least they had that I suppose but it's principle. I could see if I walked in 5 min before closing there'd be nothing, which would be my fault but I came in with a few hours left before closing. In my opinion, they should either have the supplies as advertised til whatever time and if that's not plausible, then they shouldn't be open all those hours or not til 9pm. Sorry for the lengthy post :( just frustrating when it's a place I go to quite a bit.”

“I really enjoy the food, but the restaurant itself is definitely suffering. Service is understaffed during certain times and the decorum is okay at best. However, because the food has always been solid and delicious, which is really why you go. The prices have increased slightly to match the economics, but still really good cost value. Some days they have sample desserts depending on when you go and great online coupon values for ordering.”

“Johnny Ad's is a summer tradition for many. I do not recommend a stop there in the "off" season. I had a Scallop platter on Saturday April 6. The scallops were old and rubbery. The fries had a funky, greasy taste like the oil needed changing. The Cole slaw was brown and rancid. Looked like it was made last week. For the $21.00 they charge for the meal, I expected much better! Should have gone to subway.”

“I really want to love Little Pub in Old Saybrook. I have loved their other locations when I made it to them. This location has an issue with bar service, however. Bartenders are often inattentive or not very interested in customers. The food is great, and they have great beer on tap. Service at tables has always been pleasant.”
