“The experience you have depends on the employee. The store itself is well maintained and organized, some employees are happy and social, some clearly don't want to be there and it shows. To be fair to them, this is a tough area. For every one normal customer they get, they get one that tries to steal or yells at them for things they don't have control of. No one every emphasizes with convenience store employees, but statistically more bad things (shoplifting, robberies, assault, etc) happen in convenience stores than any other subgenre of retail/food service. After years and years of this, very few people can maintain a love for their fellow human beings. Give then the benefit of the doubt, you have no idea the crazy stuff they've seen.”

“Blue State Coffee is a small and central cafe in New Haven. I came here with my wife to get a take away coffee. We both ordered a Cappuccino and they offer it with different types of milk. Even though the service was not especially friendly it came quick and the coffee was good. I liked the glassware coffee extractor as decoration while you wait for your coffee. They have some small tables where you will find lots of students working with their laptops or chatting. All in all it's a nice atmosphere and one can get good coffee in the medium price segment and experience of students life style around Yale University.”

“I love this place! The owner Susan is so sweet and accommodating, the food and coffee are amazing, the space is beautiful, and the play room is a blast! We chose to rent it out for my son's 2nd birthday and he had a great time! We ordered some of their flat bread pizzas which were so good, so it was perfect that we could have dinner there too. We brought our own cupcakes and they were so nice, offering to show us how to dim the lights and letting us light his candles, etc. Everything is immaculate and I saw staff cleaning and sanitizing tables and chairs multiple times while we were there. I can't recommend this place enough- we will definitely make it a regular play spot!”

The inside was cute and they were doing a good job of social distancing and only allowing one group in at a time to order. They had a lot of beverage options and some baked goods to go. The person that took our order was also very friendly and quick to help us. I will say however that the prices were very high. Two iced coffees were $9. I got a Vanilla iced coffee with no sugar, only milk, and it was very sweet and actually tasted more like vanilla than any coffee. However my boyfriend got a mocha iced coffee and that was very good. Overall it was pricey, but it was cute and they had a lot of options.”

That sticks with me all morning. A blend of organic coffee, organic Coconut oil and fresh, local, Farmtrue Ghee. Caffeine binds to fat and provides a slow, constant release all morning long. Not the usual spike and crash that I experience with other coffees. I love this place!”
