“Had an amazing brunch special today! By far the best sourdough breakfast sandwich toasted with arugula, egg, avocado, bacon and cheese. Cash only, but worth the extra stop at the ATM. Fabulous food for the price and super friendly staff! New to the area and this is going to be a weekly must!”

Mikes Munchies & empanadas

Address: 631 Main St, Manchester, CT 06040, USA

Restaurant

“The food was tasty and quick turnaround. It smelled so good we almost ate them in the car. There are a couple of small tables there for dining, as well, but it’s really more of a takeout joint. The empanadas were still hot when we got home and so good! The bang bang sauce was awesome, as well. I enjoyed both the sweet and savory versions. There was a really generous amount of filling in each one. Will definitely be coming back again!”

“New restaurant in town, so I had to check it out. I will say it did not disappoint. Very attentive service. The flavor of food was delicious and the drinks were made just right. The restaurant was very welcoming and has some great decor. Next time I come I’ll sit at their patio which was also very nice.”

SQUARE PEG PIZZERIA VERNON

Address: 226 Talcottville Rd, Vernon, CT 06066, USA

Restaurant

“Everything about the restaurant, management, staff, and menu is exceptional. And the round pies are AMAZING, but the Detroit style pies often come out with a lot of raw dough in the center/undercooked. Pizza is hard and they're doing amazing things, better than most other places in Connecticut. This restaurant (Vernon location) is also new, so I'm sure they'll get the Detroit pies dialed in soon. But as it sits, (went back twice about a month apart) they're still coming out undercooked in the center due to the oven temps being too high and maybe the hearth being too cool. That said, the round pies are incredible. They were also a bit underdone and floppy when they first opened, mostly due to too many wet ingredients not being pre-cooked before putting on the pie for it's final firing, so they leaked a lot onto an otherwise well cooked crust. But they're now much better, some of the nice Neapolitan style pies around! They're toppings are delicious, really well balanced for the dough, and interesting. I hope this review doesn't sound too harsh cus I will definitely be back. They're just above and beyond most other pizza places in the area and I want them to be perfect”

Kumi

Frankie B's Tavern

Address: 346 Kelly Rd, Vernon, CT 06066, USA

Restaurant

“This was our first time here, and we opted to meet up with friends to get more opinions of the place. We had a bit of a wait to get seated, but it was done in less than 15 minutes. We were given a choice, a high top table or booth, and we chose a booth. The booths are a bit awkward as they are an unusual shape. Comfortable for 4 adults, and I'm sure they could squeeze 2 more in if needed. If you were seated inside the booth, talking was okay, but if seated at the ends, then you had to raise your voice to be heard. Like previous reviews, the background music is hard to hear over the voices. They need someone on dimmer duty to lower the lights to get folks to quiet down a bit. It did make it difficult to hear even the person next to you. I would also suggest that management put a few tvs on with closed captioning. The drink menu looked good, but we were all taken aback at the price of the cocktails. $10 + seems a bit steep for our taste. So we passed on those. 3 waters and a sweet tea were ordered. If you are a fan of VERY sweet tea , you are in luck! Appetizers were hush puppies served with sour cream and onion rings ( which is a side on their menu). Both came out hot, but our runner didn't include plates for the four of us. Those we had to ask for when our waitress returned to take our order. The onion rings were crispy and had a good taste but a bit heavy with oil from the fryer, and the hush puppies' shape was so round it reminded us of those cake pop makers. We all got a good giggle out of that. They were okay, a bit on the dark side for my liking with a hint of cheese and bacon, but the four of us did not finish them. I opted to bring the rest of the onion rings home. One of our group opted to get a side salad with a balsamic dressing on the side. She stated it was fine but did not elaborate. One person ordered the Village Burger, which arrived with the top off of the burger. It was the most colorful plate at the table for presentation. It was juicy for sure as it spread all over their hands. It came with a basket of fries, which were good, but ended up getting colder quicker than they thought. 2 people ordered the brisket with 2 sides. A bean salsa type item and mashed potatoes. No one said it was terrible , but no one was raving about it either. One person did not finish their meal. I had the BBQ Chicken Flatbread. It is definitely something you'll want to share. It's too large for one, and I did ask for a to go container to bring the rest of it home. Yes, it was that good, and I'm not a big fan of caramelized onions either. Our waitress was quite pleasant and kept checking in with us to make sure everything was going well. She also made sure we had plenty of napkins and hand wipes ( a nice touch, by the way) The only downfall I noted was that they need to check between the seat cushions in the booths. Ours was filled with crumbs from previous diners.”

“Just got done eating here on opening day and omg let me tell you the service was amazing! They had plenty of staff that kept checking up on my table which we appreciated. The food was also delicious! We got hotpot and bbq but preferred the bbq because the flavors were great. I’ve been to authentic Korean bbq places before and this was a good experience for the money. Very affordable and they even have a bar of different types of fruits!!! Go here, you won’t regret it :) Additionally, the manager Branden was very nice and personable! Will definitely come back!”

EA Teriyaki

Address: 194 Buckland Hills Dr Suite 2056, Manchester, CT 06042, USA

Restaurant

“If you’re familiar with Buckland Hills mall, then you know that this place is pretty much the same as the former restaurant that was there. The steak and shrimp were cooked well done and paired nicely with the teriyaki sauce. The fried rice was a bit mushy and cold. The counters could’ve been wiped down as well. Overall, it’s a decent place to have a quick bite.”

Awsome Falafel wraps or on Greek pita. variety of fresh made salads. not to mention breakfast, fresh made bagels, crosant, English muffin sandwiches, egg n cheese, turkey ham egg n cheese. The best Belgian Waffles I've ever had, you have to try this place out, inside Asznuntuck Community college, it's family owned, and there great people,”

Pokeworks

Address: 41A Welles St, Glastonbury, CT 06033, USA

Restaurant

“As compared to Poke Don, right across the street... Same bowl cost $3 less ar Poke Done. The sushi pieces are good cuts at both. The crab tastes terrible at Pokeworks... Texture of play dough ): They charge for avocado at Pokeworks. Nice option for spicy salmon at Pokeworks. Toppings taste the same. Sauces are better at Poke Don. PokeDon has bubble tea and sushi burrito as its differentiator; Pokeworks has sushi spam and some made rolls. Atmosphere and clientele - nice people at both. Poke Don wears masks and gloves. Overall, I prefer Poke Don. Better value, cleaner.”

“9 of my family members were here for an anniversary dinner on a Wednesday night. The food was excellent and our waiter, Harry was even better. I had the filet mignon, brussel sprouts as well as a wedge salad and the only thing that I will say is I ordered my steak medium and it certainly came out medium rare. I am certain that it wasn't that my judgment that was off because someone in our party also ordered the same steak, but medium rare and our steaks were exactly the same. I didn't send it back or anything, and I didn't say anything either because the steak was so good to begin with. I'm adding a few photos of some of the meals at our table.”

“The CAR WASH behind the store is the best and cheapest in the area. There is usually a younger gentleman at the car wash he is so good with scrubbing the front and rear of the car with the brush. No car wash ever gets all those front bugs off, so this is a plus!! I ALWAYS TOSS HIM A TIP BECAUSE HE PROBABLY GET PAID VERY LITTLE AND DOES A FABULOUS JOB! Then they have free vacuums for your use after the wash and they work awesome. Hours are 7-7 and Sunday I think they open at 8.”
