“Ate at Bistro 83 tonight before a concert a few doors down. First,let me say, our server was super sweet and the food was delicious! Had pupusas, husband had a beef dish and I ended up with rice, beans and tostones. All good. And the pineappletini was yummy as well. The restaurant was understaffed but things like that happen...we had to wait a little but we didn't mind. My only complaint- i am vegetarian and had read in another review that the restaurant had "great vegan options" so I was happy about that. I even confirmed with a staff member prior to making reservations (they told me to just ask for the vegan menu when I arrived). I asked and the server said nothing like that existed. (She even double checked). She said they had salads. Vegans and vegetarians want more than salads. So my one suggestion is to have a few plant based options for the weirdos. But all in all, we had a delicious meal, nice flavors, perfectly seasoned, reasonably priced, good portions. Would go back when we are in the area. For you meat eaters, the menu is extensive with lots of choices.”

“The Lodge at Silver Sands - a newly opened hidden gem in East Haven with a menu full of delicious comfort food and unique entrees, 10/10 presentation on dishes, and a cozy vibe. We visited last night and started off with appetizers of the maple buffalo and garlic parm wings, as well as their honey bourbon mozzarella sticks. The wings were crispy and a great size, and the homemade pesto sauce with the garlic parm wings was a nice touch. I had never tried a mozzarella stick with a sweet flavor like honey bourbon before, and I was really impressed! My boyfriend took down “The Beast” burger for his meal, which is one pound of pure Omaha beef, topped with applewood smoked bacon, beer cheese sauce, and the Lodge’s homemade maple buffalo sauce. It was cooked perfectly to medium rare as he requested, and he would gladly take down another one! I had their mac and cheese, and I loved that they used shells for pasta and that it was served in a cast iron pot. You could definitely taste the beer used in the cheese, but it was a great flavor that I enjoyed. We ended the night with their homemade tiramisu and left very full and happy. They have a huge fireplace that will be nice to cozy up by in the winter months, TVs for you to watch the game, and a bar with a wide variety to choose from! My boyfriend chose Oban 14 year whisky with his meal. You don’t have to be a member of the Silver Sands club to dine here, so head down to East Haven - The Lodge is waiting for you!”

“Stop here looking for clam chowder well they have Rhode Island (Lil bland)which is more of a chicken noodle type minus chicken add clams. Now, on the other hand, the lobster roll sandwich was Devine!!! The lobster bisque soup was also very well done. The downside is the fries and O-rings weren’t very good. That being said beer was cold and there was a nice selection of food along with a good, attentive waitress. Definitely worth a stop.”

“We discovered this place by accident and they definitely got themselves a new customers! Really welcoming warm place with fresh yummy food. Even my fussy eaters toddler and 5 years old ate everything we ordered. Yummy halal meat, flavorful rice and fresh salad that even the kids ate.
