“This place has been around for ever just has changed names a few times over the past 30 years. The High dive has a great variety of acts and we've always had a wonderful time. Good prices on booze and beer.”

“One of the nicest & best kept secrets in downtown Gainesville. Great specialized food from the French cuisines. Authentic with nice atmosphere. Ask for the guitar live shows, they're nice. Great choice for an evening outing on town. Would go many times when given a chance. It's a bit on the smaller size, cozy but may get crowded, reserve ahead.”

“The food was really pretty good. Nobody complained at all. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The servers were pretty good but could be better. They were all very nice, for the record. But the service was indescribably slow, and I am not generally impatient when it comes to service. We were there for over two hours for sandwiches and fish and chips. Just way too long. If everything else was exceptional, we'd be back. But, even as nice as they were, one and done.”

I promise you that you won't be disappointed.”

“Great Indian restaurant. The lunch buffet was awesome! There were about 10 different dishes plus a salad type bar with many sauces. Well worth the money. Lunch plus lemonade was $13.”

“I recently discovered this gem in downtown Gainesville, and cannot say enough how truly delicious the food is! The western omelet has to be one of my favorite around (and that exceeds Florida). The breakfast potatoes, with onions and peppers (if you wish) are even better... in fact, they are what got me out of bed this morning! The pancakes are huge, soft and fluffy! The prices are great, the restaurant clean, and atmosphere is very happy and family friendly. Kind of reminds me of my kitchen growing up. :) All around, I recommend for anybody who loves a great breakfast in a great environment!!”

“Finally, finally went to Crane Ramen. And now I'm wondering why it took me so long to go there! The food was amazing, the service was top notch, and now I want to eat there every day! I highly recommend that if you don't know what to get, ask your server -- they know more than you do and they will steer you in the right direction.”

“I hosted a party of 35 here for my son's rehearsal dinner. The staff were marvelous, both in getting the event planned and on the evening itself. The night of the event, the staff were so personable and efficient. They really allowed us the space to relax and enjoy the evening. The food was great and there was a selection for everyone, meat lover to vegan. I heard only good things from my guests.”

“One of our favorite fancy date night spots, even for vegetarians! All their vegetarian options (apps, pastas, etc) are delicious and they're very accommodating to our dietary restrictions. Great wines as well. Only wish they had valet as parking can be tough but not enough of an issue to remove a star.”

“Enjoyed the food here on a slow Monday night. I ordered the spicy tuna tower with avocado and roe. It was delicious. On a tip from a friend, I asked for them to go light on the sauce, and I was glad I did - otherwise I might not have been able to taste the tuna. (It comes marinated and then served with additional spicy mayo and eel sauce on top, I had them leave the extra sauces off.) Prices are a little on the high side for Gainesville, but the food was good and I'll be back.”

“Our server Avery, knowledgeable and super nice and suggested some dope dishes that we figuratively died over. Chef Kyle killed it. The hot sauces are amazing, had to purchase those for home. If we didn't live literally across the country, we'd be back often!”

“Very good pizza, a little thinner than typical chewy New York Style Pizza - but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The slices are huge, like 2 typical slices. Toppings were loaded on. They have a lot of specials, but two big delicious slices and a soft drink for $7 is hard to beat. The place is a little eclectic, it looks like it might have once been a bank. There are lots of outdoor tables with umbrellas, right on the corner downtown for people watching. They also have inside seating and a bar with a large selection of craft beers. Good friendly attentive service. Recommended.”

“Owner has a wonderful personality. They offer a wide range of different out of the normal options. Everything is home made and he really loves what he does. The Gelato was amazing and their tomato bisque soup had to be the best we've tasted in Florida. Highly recommended.”

“Richard put together a beautiful event for our rehearsal dinner with delicious food! We had our first date there and wanted to bring everyone back to celebrate our marriage. Bar service was a little slow, but the bartender was very professional and courteous and did his best to keep everyone happy. Do NOT miss out on the crab mac and cheese! I highly highly recommend this secret gem in Gainesville.”

“Positive Changes First time at OAK was in 2016–terrible as we were served frozen sweet potato fries with mediocre drinks. Visited again a few weeks ago for a friend’s birthday dinner and loved it! Try it again if it’s been a while. The menu offers a fun variety and the food is very tasty. The servers are attentive and very pleasant.”

“Very easily the best barbeque restaurant I've ever been to! Awesome atmosphere, really helpful and friendly staff, decent prices and incredible food. My toddler has a lot of food allergies and the waitress was very patience and paid close attention to his restrictions. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and its fantastic!! My husband and brother ordered and raved about The Smitty. The smoked sausage has absolutely delicious flavor. I didn't know brisket could be that moist and tender... its not my favorite cut but I could see myself ordering it and enjoying it in the future! My family makes a party of 10, so with that many people there's usually a thing or two amiss but nothing that any of us ordered was dry or unpleasant in any way. Orders came out quickly and accurately. We all sampled bites of each other's and we were all really impressed. The only downfall is that we live an hour and a half away! MOJO, come to Mount Dora!!!”

“Writing less about the food than an awesome service experience, though the tortillas and chips here are top-notch. Walked in here on a Thursday night right after a thunderstorm to find the lightning had fried the restaurant's computer system and the staff had to run everything manually. Yet we got fairly quick and very friendly service regardless! There may be more authentic Mexican places around, but none with a better experience”

“Fast service, reasonable prices, and polite staff. Great for lunch, with lots of flavor in every menu item. A fantastic alternative to the usual lunch choices. I love the Esquites corn soup!”

“One of the best, if not the best, restaurants I've been to in Gainesville. Both the food and service were top notch. I ordered one of the veal dishes and it was easily the best veal I have ever tasted. I could not get enough. Our server informed us that the chef goes out to the farm and selects the calves himself. The restaurant paid great attention to detail and helped to make a wonderful night. It is on the pricer side, but you will not be disappointed by the quality you will receive.”

“Always a great place for beer. Friendly staff and great brews. Drift is my favorite beer. Large venue. Beer garden. Kid friendly. Games. Food trucks most days except Monday. Trivia sometimes on Tuesdays. Tell Steve, the bar manager, Drift Man says hi.”

“This place is my GO TO! during the week the do a lunch special where you get 3 rolls for 12$ or 2 for 9$ and it comes with soup and salad. It’s amazing! Their sushi is delicious and not pricey at all! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.”

“We were unsure of where to get a good meal in town while visiting for the day. The decor was lacking but the food smelled so good we decided to stay. So glad we did. I’m a huge fan of Mediterranean and this was some of the best I’ve ever had. My whole family was in awe and couldn’t stop talking about how good it was. You’ll be glad you ate here!”

“This is my favorite place to hit in Gainesville! Actually the only vegan pizza I will eat...and they have a few varieties. My kids love the PlainJane. Service is fast and the ingredients are fresh and local. Live music at the Boxcar...don’t worry you can drown it out with sangria or rose’ ????????????”

“Good brunch food, cozy atmosphere. Ample parking but you have to sell your grandma to get somewhere to sit. My friends and I also stopped going because they seemed to always be closed whenever we tried to go (long holidays, with only a tiny paper sign on the door). Afternoon and Civilization became more reliable options. My friend worked here and loved the work environment though.”

“My place! Good quality sushi. Prices are reasonable, although they did raise prices recently. Very fast service. Their dumplings are good, too. Would prefer if they made it easier to order over the phone or online without a fee.”

“They were very busy...but then it is a busy business! Ha. I wanted some help with options and they told me to look online. I bought pizza and could load the point at store because their point scanner weren't working. Pizza was good. So maybe just order online and skip the store. They probably cater for so many students it's their main thing.”
