“Had the best duck we had in many years. Pleasant environment, interesting menu, good service. A bit too noisy when full.”

“We drove to Captiva to have lunch at this place, the food was delicious and taste, the service just normal but nothing to die for. Love the view and guessing because it wasn’t full by the time we arrived (close to 2:30pm) we were able to seat close to the big glasses windows so the surroundings were spectaculars. I got the Captiva Salad & Shrimp bisque...just love it! The rest of my family was very pleasant with the quality of the food.”

“Stopped by for lunch. Had the shrimp tacos that were served with chips and salsa. The chips were a little stale but NO problem because the tacos were huge and delicious, didn’t need them. Our waiter was attentive (we didn’t tell him about the chips). The price was reasonable. Atmosphere excellent. These owners have a great sense of humor too! I would eat there again.”

“Great place to grab a bit to eat and a little dessert. Located in the heart of it all in Captiva this place is perfect. Clean and super friendly service, great menu and fair prices. We definitely recommend this place to others and will return ourselves in the future.”

“Stopped by for a leisurely lunch after time on the beach. Food was excellent. Had the blackened grouper sandwich with sweet potato fries. Large piece of fish cooked perfectly. Also had the smoked fish dip to begin. It was simple yet satisfying. Vinnie was singing on the patio which added to a relaxed feel. Cute spot to enjoy some great seafood. Would've given it 5 stars but it took over 10 minutes before anyone spoke to us. Once they did, service was fine.”

“Such a fun place, highly recommend it to everyone. We had such a great time here. The staff were all super friendly and very attentive, and the menu was awesome. We enjoyed some very yummy drinks and I had the most amazing pork chops that I think I have ever had, so tender and juicy with incredible flavor. The final round with desert was a perfect ending with the orange cake, WOW! Make sure you go hungry because the portions are very large, everyone leaves with a to ho bag. A d finally the decor. They have each area decorated so wonderfully, it is truly an experience dining here. Dont miss it!!!!”

“Awesome atmosphere! Dollar bills stapled everywhere, I mean all over! Easily over 50k stapled the the inside and outside of the building. Good eats here, good drinks! Very tasty food served quickly. Cheers to the staff very inviting. They provide colored pend and a staple gun so you can write a message or color a dollar and staple it. A cool place to go and eat if you want to try something different. Mexican food.”

“Doc Ford's, whichever location you choose, is a marvelous haven of culinary delight. The menu is not broad, but it is well thought out. Everything is prepared as described, no surprises, unless you have not set your bar high enough. The beverage selection is, again, well thought out. If you are a fan of rum, this is an excellent place to get an introduction to rums, like single malt scotches, that will stand on their own merit. I highly recommend Doc Ford's, I have never been disappointed. And, of course, if you are a fan of Randy Wayne White, and his cast of literary characters, then the experience is made just that much more richer.”

“The food was good but the prices are too expensive here and the waiter didn't understand anything we said. Also, the bathrooms have a toilet that was clogged for 2 HOURS and still not fixed. Atmosphere is fine but it is killed by wood tables and benches that have a 90% chance of giving you a splinter. Nobody cared about a raw grouper I was given, and that is a huge problem. Overall, it's good but bad. Or is it bad but good?”

“Love this place. We come every year. Some installations need a little maintenance but it's no reason for not coming or not enjoying this paradise. The food is good and the places nearby to eat are also great. Highly recommend.”

“I have had the pleasure of both dining here myself as well as sending my guests over that stay at The Little Oasis Beach Cottage to enjoy the freshly made conch fritters and of course the wonderful seafood they serve. My guests love the fact that they can take their own bottle and enjoy a freshly cooked meal overlooking the vast gulf. This establishment is literally right on the water so the name Over The Waterfront is truly fitting for them as a restaurant. There are 4 restaurants we enjoy in north captiva island and over the waterfront is one of the better ones along with The Boathouse , Mango's, Barnacles that is currently closed for remodeling and renovations. Keep up the great work!”
