“Better than hotel breakfast but not by much! Honestly I wish I’d saved myself $60.00 and ate at the hotel but the reviews said this was good. I guess those reviewers have not had good breakfast before because this was among the worst breakfast I’ve ever had! The eggs were runny the biscuit was burnt! My wife’s English muffin was soggy and my sons pancakes tasted like they were microwaved! The coffee was burnt and quite bitter! I ended up drinking my water because I couldn’t stomach the bad coffee! Giving it three stars because it’s a step above hotel breakfast well honestly I’ve had better hotel breakfast!”

“SO YUMMY!!! I ordered the Orange Chicken lunch combo and it came with a home made pork egg roll, soft drink, and rice. For only $15 you get quite the bang for your buck! Very flavorful and the broccoli adds a great touch. I also ordered the chili dumplings and pot stickers. The dumplings had a good bit of heat to them but nothing overwhelming, and the pot stickers were so flavorful especially with the ponzu sauce on the side!”

“The food was really good. The atmosphere was amazing. It was very relaxed and everything was on brand. The staff were very thoughtful. Our waiter/bartender was named Kennie, and he was very friendly and helpful. It was crowded but comfortable, and everything seemed to have been placed with a purpose. They practiced social distancing and all the staff wore masks. The menu was labeled with gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian symbols everywhere. This was great because my wife is gluten free. I would definitely go there again.”

“Wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary at The Thistle Lodge and it was incredible. We knew it was going to be expensive and had no problem splurging for a wonderful week on Captiva Island. The Lodge is fantastic our suite was huge and wonderful the staff helped us with everything. The part we were disappointed in was the food at the restaurant. If you are going to charge "Michelin Star" prices then you have set a pretty high bar for the expectations of your diners. I compare this to experiences that my wife and I have been lucky enough to enjoy in New York, Chicago and San Fran. I am not trying to sound pretentious, just pragmatic when it comes to the experiences that you pay top dollar to have. I want value for the money I spend in any establishment. So when the check comes for our Anniversary dinner comes the only thing I care about is do the numbers match my expectations and if the price of the meal is priced at or above say a Michelin Starred establishment then my expectations will be pretty high. Our food was good but the value was clearly not what it should have been. The service was incredible and she truly understood the prep, execution and sourcing of our meals. She also parred wines perfectly for us. My point to this lengthy review is make sure you get value for your hard earned money for any of your experiences...The wife and I still had a wonderful time at the Lodge.”

“Best pina colada I’ve ever had!!! Go during happy hour for the bay breeze or sex on the beach for $5. Food wise I ordered the shrimp and fries and it was so yummy. We got it twice. “Island Inn had recommended this location to its guest during the closure of Traditions on the Beach for their dining pleasure. We were already acquainted with Doc Ford's near Ft Myers Beach location so we knew we were going to sample their table fare. Normally, I try to get fresh seafood entrees while in Florida but their Southwestern Salad just look too inviting from the table across from us to pass up. While my wife, Ashley had a wonderful Mexican dish with black beans and rice... Now the next tidbit of info is to the management of this establishment... Whoever is in the kitchen making up that Carrot cake everyday she needs a big, large, huge raise in pay. She or whoever you got making it, is a fabulous baker and the frosting is beyond belief. Now for the second slap on the back... Jon our server was stupendous to say the least for he met our every expectation even recommended a new line of bourbon for me and Jon's recommendation for dessert was none other than the house carrot cake. Just to let you know our second night we went out to Timbers restaurant to eat sushi but we left Timbers and went back to your establishment for carrot cake and coffee. We just couldn't pass up another chance of eating that delicious dessert! Almost forgot Ashley love the Mojito We'll be back the next time we're in Southern Florida”
