AJ's Oyster Shanty

Wife and I got burgers. Her Better Cheddar, Me, Kahuna with bacon and cheese. Both good. Kiddo got a kids burger. It was served on a Frisbee and she thought that was the coolest thing ever. Seafood looked amazing but we were in the mood for burgers. Servers were super nice. Our was Junior. He did great. Took a while to get our food. Like everywhere else they're short handed so I understand. They apologized profusely and didn't charge us for our teas which I thought was very nice. Live music was great too. Would recommend.

This place has a great ambience. The food is well done, and the staff is A+. We sat outside while nice music was playing on the background. The stress relief special drink is the best cocktail I have drank in very long. Masterfully crafted. I had the catch of the day special. It was a blackened grouper....super delicious. Usually I bathe my food in lemon or whatever sauce, but this dish did not need any other than what the chef sends. My woman had the run of the kitchen...this was nothing that would blow your taste buds, but well breaded and cooked. The special day appetizer was also real delicious. Our waiter was so nice that it made the whole dinner better. All in all, would visit again next time we come to this area.

Seriously... the best service we've had in FL! We just arrived and this was so worth it! Chandler took such good care of us that I highly recommend anyone that frequents this establishment ask for her! She made our whole experience so fun and want to come back. So many people with hangdog attitudes that are unhappy to be where they are while she absolutely exuded happiness! Our party will definitely be back to this location!

I give this a 3 stars. I am a big foodie and a cook myself. I not only judge a restaurant by its food, presentation and service but by its ambiance. This one is a 3 star because where it lacks in great food it certainly delivers in ambiance. We ate during karaoke and it was extremely entertaining. Really great performances. The service was great as well. Our server was attentive and inviting. Food- could try a little harder. This food could have very well be considered bar food. In that case nothing should change but if food was priority I think they could add more love and flavor to the food. If you are going to just have a good time and not focused on food but more of ambiance this is the place!

I had been telling my husband about AJ’s prior to our trip
from Utah to Ft. Walton Beach and we were not disappointed!
In fact, we had 2 delicious meals there on our vacation.
Staff were super friendly, food was delicious and the atmosphere was lively and fun! Their drinks were great and prices
were reasonable! The quality of food was out of this world!
We cannot wait to come back! Thanks AJ’s!
