We have been going to Old Bay Steamer for over 23 years and it never disappoints. Their great quality food is ALWAYS consistent. My children grew up going there and , now grown, take their families. It’s not just the fabulous food (crab legs, royal reds with sweet melted butter...) but it’s a visual experience! The owner collects artwork from local, young up and coming artists to that of seasoned, well known artists. The walls have inspired me to do many of the same things in our home and our friends love it! We aren’t family and don’t know the owner but her awesome personality sure comes through. Jill has been our waitress for years. The service, the food, the visual stimulation is worth the 6 hour drive every time. Sorry to ramble, but our first visit, they were brand new. We had a party of 15 - 20 and they were swamped. The owner handed one of us a broom and told the rest of us not to just stand there, roll some silverware. It was hilarious and we did it! We’ll always remember how funny she was. This is a must stop.
We went out late to just driving around and find someplace to eat. Saw this place wasn’t crowded so we just stopped in. WOW. What a great place. There are a lot of things to the dining experience for my wife and myself. 1st) everyone was so friendly and helpful. Our server was Erica A and she was impeccable. She was the most friendly and outgoing server we have had since we have been coming here over the last 35 yrs. 2nd) The food quality was very good. Started with some outstanding gumbo. Then to the absolute best salad with vinaigrette dressing I have ever had. (I hate vinaigrette but this was amazing). For main meals, wife had crab legs and I had 1/2 rack of ribs that had to have come off a specially grown pig cause the half was more than I could eat and fall off the bone amazing. 3rd) The price point was right on. It didn’t break the bank and was fair for what we had. It’s definitely not one of those regular tourist places. Treat yourself and we will be back.
To give them a low rating would mean you ordered wrong or was trying something new for the first time and didn't like it. The king crab and snow crab was fabulous! The steamed lobster tail was so tender and juicy. The service was great. They were very busy, but they did very good at keeping up.
Checked this place out tonight looking for some fresh seafood. We ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms which were tasty and the scallops... which were phenomenal. Best scallops we've ever had. My husband ordered the filet (cooked perfectly) with a side of shrimp and I had the snapper fresh catch which was delicious. Rounded the meal out with a slice of key lime pie which was light and refreshing. Our server Erica was very professional, helpful, and friendly. Would recommend and will come back on our next trip.
Me and my girlfriends wanted some yummy seafood and let me tell you, this restaurant did NOT disappoint! Our server Erica was absolutely AMAZING, she made our night honestly. She was making us laugh and was very helpful with the menu whenever we had any questions. Spencer was a great bartender as well, made some amazing drinks for us! I will definitely be coming back to see her when I am in town! Their food was ABSOLUTELY amazing, drinks and food were delicious, overall a great experience! 😃
