Big Red Cafe

Address: 1083 US-98, Destin, FL 32541, USA

Restaurant

“Went here for a quick bite before hitting the beach. Food was great, service was good, can get a little crowded here and there but the food is worth it. If you get there early it's not as bad.”

FATBOYS - Crestview FL

Address: 482 Wilson St N, Crestview, FL 32536, USA

Restaurant

“We decided to stop in and try fat boys after visiting with family. We've been to the area quite a lot or the last 10 years and we're looking to try something new. This place came to mind and we decided to give it a shot. It seems like a fun spot to come grab a bite with family. The food was all pretty good with the exception of the burger. We thought it was a bit overdone and were a little underwhelmed by the overall taste of it. However, the wings, Philly egg rolls, and Fries were all exceptional. We will definitely be back.”

GUACO TACO

Address: 260 Chicago Ave, Valparaiso, FL 32580, USA

Restaurant

“Niceville/Valparaiso/Fort Walton has its share of 'mexican' restaurants, but none can hold a candle to Guaco Taco, newly relocated from a successful run in Washington State where they proudly won many prizes for quality. That tradition of quality, excellence, and all-around deliciousness continues. The selection of pork carnitas, shredded beef, chicken, or vegetarian offerings means no one will go hungry or be disappointed by mediocre alternatives. Freshness is the byword for this treasure, with home made fire roasted tomatillio and tomato sauces, properly cooked carnitas that were juicy and flavorful, thick rustic corn chips, excellent whole-bean pinto beans, etc. The major draw for those who love real tamales are the tamales, authentic and filling. The guacamole is excellent, tiny diced onion, loads of chunky avocado, just the right amount of ripe tomato, salt, and lemon juice. Simplicity itself but executed with excellence. Folks raised on American-style hard-shell tacos may at first be a little confused, for these are tiny fresh corn double tortilla street tacos, generously filled (two is plenty!) with the filling of your choice and a choice of hot, medium, or mild freshly made salsa. A superlative 'equilibrium of deliciousness' understates their excellence all around. Prices are fair for what you get, as you pay for quality and the portion size. The building exterior is Florida stark, while the interior is charming and colorful, comfortable and super super clean (important!). Excellent food, excellent family, easy location, charming experience. Try them once and you will be repeat customers for sure!”

The Lunch Room

Address: 481 S John Sims Pkwy, Valparaiso, FL 32580, USA

Restaurant

“Food was good. I ordered beef tips, greens and green beans and tea. Got most correct, received pork that the tails of the ribs -- was very good, little sauce -just the way I would cook it. 3FEB23 ordered the Salisbury steak with mash greens and tea. It was a good choice. The place still does not have vinegar sauce. I upped the service because it was good this time. 16FEB23. I ordered the country fried chicken, I dropped my rating from 5 to 3 stars. The chicken was stupidly over cooked, I ask if I could get dark meat and the staff man laughed and said it was all breast. The only good thing was the green beans and fries. This was the worst meal I have had from this place, it is not so bad that I will not come back. The cook should have not served the driest chicken I ever had. The white gravy did not help a bit. 21FEB23 I ordered the fried pork chops. This was the best chops I have had outside of my home! I could not finish my plate as I was full. I requested mid rare or medium chops and is was cooked perfectly! The greens are still the best - Brothers in blue water bay needs to taste these and adjust! I changed my overall rating back to 5 stars”

Quick edit, the seafood was great! It's something I wasn't expecting even though it's literally a beachside restaurant. I recommend stopping here if your on vacation!”

Henderson Beach Resort

Address: 200 Henderson Resort Way, Destin, FL 32541, USA

Restaurant

“The rooms are so cozy and comfortable, it feels like you’re staying in a home. For the most part every single person who works here is so nice. It was a really nice experience except for a couple of things. 1. We gave housekeeping our two bed spreads to wash and they never brought us other ones. When we called and asked for two more blankets, they brought us one small thin blanket. So, our last night here I slept under the thin blanket and the other guest slept under the sheet. (I hope he doesn’t get charged for those bed spreads?) we had two dogs and it was really hard to communicate with housekeeping what we needed and why we didn’t want them to come in the room with the dogs. 2. For some reason Sunday morning, the valet was so rude to us for no reason, I understand everyone has a bad day but we just came to get our key and hadn’t even said or done anything and once we walked up one of the gentlemen just seemed annoyed with our presence and I had no idea what was going on. 3. No vegan on late night menu, veggie wrap has Mayo and can’t be modified so there weren’t any options to eat. Even though this made it a little stressful, other than those things it was really pleasant, nice pools and bars and short walk to the beach. Perfect for small dogs, nice area to walk them around. Most people there are soooooo friendly that it made me smile. Really nice place to stay”

Casbah Coffee Co.

Address: 196 W Pine Ave, Crestview, FL 32536, USA

Cafe Restaurant

“Their not bad. A small privately owned coffee place. They didn't have much left in their bakery when I got there, but it was a lunch rush so that's to be expected. It had a nice warm atmosphere, made me wanna take a seat but I had to be on my way, I got my usual coffee house order, a vanilla cappuccino. Great foam in it. Very smooth and silky. The wait wasn't long either. Just a few minutes. The manager I spoke to briefly. He seemed like a friendly guy. Definately the right attitude to keep people positive in work and as a customer.”

ORO Italian Street Food

Address: 4237 Legendary Dr H100, Destin, FL 32541, USA

Restaurant

“So, we checked out Oro Italian Street Food at Destin Commons, and man, they've got quite the pizza selection! They've got all sorts of flavors, from unique ones to your classic favorites. But that's not all – they also serve up sandwiches and desserts. And guess what? The bread they use is made right there in the house, and the crust is baked fresh too! Okay, I gotta admit, the pizzas are a bit on the smaller side and kinda pricey. But you know what? They tasted so darn good that it felt like they were totally worth the splurge. And here's the best part – the people working there were super friendly, and they seemed like legit Italians who knew their stuff. They didn't just stop at taking our orders; they actually brought the food right to our table. And get this, they even checked in on us later to make sure we were happy with our meal. Now that's some awesome service! All things considered, despite the cost, I'm totally planning on going back to Oro Italian Street Food again. The deliciousness of their pizzas and the top-notch service make it a winner in my book.”

“My boyfriend and I love PB & J so much we often drive all the way from fort walton beach just to get our favorite chicken salad sandwich! This is by far the best chicken salad sandwich around here! It is always consistent, Philip splits our sandwich into two plates for us because he knows we always split the sandwich between the two of us. Jess is always front and center to greet you with a smiling face! Phillip and Jess are so unbelievably nice and personable! They always use fresh local ingredients and they are very passionate about what ingredients they feed they’re customers! 10 out of 10 would recommend!”

Julian S. was our server and he was awesome. He refilled our drinks without even having to wait or ask. I observed him around the restaurant and this kid was working hard for all his tables. So thank you Julian for making our first experience eating here a great one.”

Stewby's Seafood Shanty

Address: 4120 S Ferdon Blvd, Crestview, FL 32536, USA

Restaurant

“We jumped off the interstate and found this place for lunch. Got a bunch of stuff to go. It was ready quickly. Highlights were the colossal shrimp and the gumbo, which hands down beat the gumbo from the Cajun place in Louisiana. The shrimp were actually colossal. Also had fish of the day blackened. Banana pudding was also very good. We highly recommend and wish we lived closer.”

Kalye Grill & Lumpia LLC

Address: 1690 S Ferdon Blvd, Crestview, FL 32536, USA

Restaurant

“For the most part I think k the food here was not too bad. Usually I love places that serve chicken on a stick and lumpia. Usually such places do well but occasionally they can have a bad day and have undercooked chicken. That has happened here. The chicken has good flavor, yes, but when you let your son start to eat one the next day and see pink all in half of the chicken, it can be off putting. The fried rice, not bad, a good fried rice can give you more to fill up on without breaking your pocket. The flavor isn't bad, maybe slightly less pepper next time, makes it a little harsh for kids. The lumpia was a tad thin but thin isn't too bad, makes it stay crisper longer, only issue is less filling. Either way, all in all I'd give a 4”

Brooklyn Pizza

Address: 2511 S Ferdon Blvd, Crestview, FL 32536, USA

Restaurant

“I called and placed an order for two pasta dinners and let me tell you, I had my doubts because I was ordering pasta from a pizza place. But oh my goodness was it delicious. Easily the best pasta I have had in a LONG time. The gentleman who took my order over the phone was very courteous and when I picked up the order staff was very polite and genuinely nice. Would 100% recommend and will be ordering from again. So nice to not have to leave Crestview for good Italian food. We have also gotten pizza from them on a few occasions and it has always been very good.”

Blue Collar Cafe

Address: 314 Bayshore Dr, Niceville, FL 32578, USA

Cafe Restaurant

“Great little cafe stop for a quick breakfast before heading back to Tampa! All of the servers and service was great, everyone was so attentive. The food was delicious we ate it too fast for pictures, lol but we ordered the burrito, the breakfast skillet, and the county ham which was sweet and that was my only issue. Definitely recommend a stop in if you are in the area.”
