“I already loved this Popeyes location because the food is always fresh and hot and taste very good. I’ve honestly never had a bad experience at this location, however I did get shorted 5 pieces of chicken on yesterday, I ordered the 16 piece family meal but only received 11 pieces. I called the store manager Ms. Robin and she TOTALLY went above and beyond the call of duty to rectify the error. She was extremely nice and pleasant and helpful and professional and I truly appreciate that from her. So many times African American ran establishments get a bad reputation due to service but Ms. Robin and this location totally debunk that theory. Thank you again.”

“I've been meaning to try this place for a while and finally got the opportunity today. My son had the braised turkey wings. I am not a fan of turkey, but they wings were cooked and seasoned to perfection. I ordered salmon, it was beautifully cooked but lacking in seasoning. For sides we had mac and cheese, sauteed spinach, collard greens and dirty rice. All of the sides had something special that took them over the top and made them especially delicious. I cook from scratch all the time so it is hard to impress me with restaurant food. However, DiasPora will now be my go-to place for FRESH, made-from-scratch meals. The service was also top-notch.”

“Update: So we went back today (1/13/20) to get food since it was so good, and the restaurant made up for the first experience. Thanks so much for the quick response and willingness to make things right. We will most definitely be back!! Ordered through ubereats, and online it states that the 20 wing combo comes with a medium fry and two large drinks. When we arrived to pick up the food, we were only given one drink. Went back in to ask about the other drink and show the ubereats screen that states that two drinks are included and the female at the front got snippy about it. It wasn’t about the drink, it was the principle. There was no need to get smart about a mistake that you guys made. For that, I gave three stars because customer service is everything; doesn’t matter how good your food is. Other than that, the wings were fresh and tasted great. The fries were kind of soft but yummy nevertheless. Willing to give this establishment a second chance.”

“This place is great and getting better. It's a bit odd that they're a cafe and a Mexican restaurant, but just roll with it. Every bite of food I've had here has been delicious. Their current business model of being open for breakfast and lunch works. They're working on a dinner menu and a liquor license. It's a small place, I don't know how they'll handle larger crowds. In the meantime, definitely visit, the food is great.”

Yet here I am, giving this delightful coffee shop a five-star review. I first became aware of this place when Quan offered me a sample of his shop's delicious Shakin' Joe (a winning combination of amazing coffee and home-made ice cream), and I was hooked. Actually, I'm still hooked, and am kind of bummed that I started this review and will have to wait until tomorrow to get myself some delicious ice-cream coffee. I just wish I had asked for the sauce on the side instead of on top. It comes with a LOT of sauce. Service was good -- I think it was the chef who brought our food out. “I've been looking for a good place for BBQ in my neighborhood, and I definitely lucked out. In my opinion, it's the best I've had in Atlanta. The food is amazing, the environment is cozy and charming, and everyone working there was amazingly nice. “I can vouch for the truth of their advertising--there is magic in this kitchen. Strip mall Chinese American cuisine of this caliber is rare, but when you find it, ahh... that's the stuff! A hard-working family is behind the potency of their particular magic. If you want to feel slightly better about eating out, for near the cost of a fast food meal, you can have higher quality food, served hotter and faster (sometimes) than "fast food" places, and served by very pleasant and polite staff. Support local small businesses like this. The world, and you, will be better for it. I recommend General Tso's Tofu, his chicken, the beef rolls, and a vegetable dish of your choice. The hot and sour soup, which tells me a lot of what I need to know about the chef, is really good. Try the homemade tea or lemonade. They do have a special diet menu. Don't get any sauce unless you absolutely have to. You'll want to savor every bite. Also, be kind, use your own cutlery if you can. The white rice is very nice. If you like to actually taste what you're eating, you won't be disappointed.”
