“Really flavorful, robust or delicate crepes to your preference. They have savory, sweet and plain crepes of a wide variety made fresh with really fresh ingredients. Even fresh squeezed lemon juice! I ordered a grilled sandwich. What I got was the kind of product I'd expect if someone didn't do their homework and slapped something together for a deadline. Imagine a panini in your mind's eye, a glorious gooey mess of cheese and sundry fillings that is contained only by bread that has been touched by fire. This wasn't that.”

“Tough decision between a three-star and four-star rating. We got takeout here during quarantine, so I'm willing to re-visit this review when we are actually able to eat there in person. But I will say that it was a solid culinary experience (especially for them being open on Easter Sunday during quarantine) but I wouldn't rate it four-stars right now. I ordered a breakfast burrito. While the meat was pretty tasty, the shell on the burrito itself was rather hard in the middle. But they did have some really good salsa (not the store bought stuff) and the sauce made the burrito better. My wife got biscuits and gravy, and while she wasn't underwhelmed with them, she certainly wasn't raving about them either. All of this to say this was just an average culinary experience. I certainly wouldn't recommend it right now to tourists who have a limited time here when there are so many other options to choose from around Kailua. But Kono's was just good enough to where my wife and I will give it another shot when we can actually dine-in and perhaps it'll be a better experience then.”

Very friendly and welcoming staff make visitors feel part of the community. A note, my personal breakfast favorite, fried rice and eggs that comes with heavenly Hawaiian macaroni and potato salad can easily feed at least two people with the full order. The buttermilk pancakes are light and fluffy goodness.”

“It was good. We only tried two sorts so not info to actually judge the place. The wings were awesome, but the calamari was just okay. The Calamari was not fried correctly and it all stuck together. We would have preferred the calamari proportion to be switch with the wing proportion, not enough wings. Service was great and be selection was good too”
