“I typically don't eat pizza however, seeing that this was a true coal fired oven. I decided to go against my meal plan and give it a shot. I met the owner who is an incredible person, and explained to me the cost and how the coal heats the oven. A pizza can cook, and as little as three minutes in one of these ovens. I had a heavy pour of the Pinot Noir, and I ordered the number one pizza. To be honest, it pains me to give only four stars. However, I was expecting a little bit of crunch and a lot of flavor and sadly I was lacking both. The owner came over to check on me and said that he would've liked to seen more char on the crust and I also agree. It was a nice atmosphere with great service and enjoyable conversations with the staff. Could've used an extra 30 to 45 seconds given the pace at which the owner said it cooked as this one was a little too soggy for my liking.”

“We've anticipated this place being restored and opening up. The first time we went - we were so pleased! The menu included the history and pictures - food was interesting, specialty drinks were small and overpriced, but tasty. We took friends, and the service was slow, the food less than great, the caesar salad that was once unique was not good at all. They removed the pictures and history of the renovation from the menu. We keep going back because we like the outdoor patio and the atmosphere, but haven't been wowed by the food, service, prices, or specialty drinks. The beer options are nice, though!”

“The seats were so comfortable, I fell asleep during the movie, and my son kept on having to wake me up. You can retract your seat like a couch, and you can even make your back and bottom warm however you want! Normal, warm, and hot. When we placed our order we were asked if we'd like to sample anything, which I thought was nice. This location was very clean and they filled orders quickly. “I love Portillo's. Everytime I am in the Chicago area I have to stop there. I wish they would expand down state closer to St. Louis. There Chicago style hot dogs are great. I always get the Italian beef with both hot and sweet peppers. Yum! They also have good fries. They have plenty of other food that I have not tried but I am sure it good. If you haven't been yet you should definitely add it to your list.”

“Was a bit skeptical since it just opened not too long ago, but I must say their wings and pizza are amazing. Slices are big and cheap and really filling, one would do you well on a lunch break. The original wings blew me away too. I thought I was getting just a normal wing but I found it to be a dry rub seasoned wing that has a hell of a tasty kick. Dry on the outside as it should be and juicy on the inside. Can’t go wrong here. A spot that can give you a slice of Za, wings and crinkle cut seasoned fries for under $10 is definitely a diamond in the rough. Owner is super friendly and inviting too. Deserves way more foot traffic than it is currently getting.”
