“Some of the best breakfast I’ve ever had including soft buttery biscuits that rival the ones I’ve had in Atlanta, a spicy breakfast burrito, and fresh squeezed orange juice! On top of that, the service was excellent. The chef was on top of it running around and cooking everything fresh. Woman at register lovely and so helpful. Coffee is good. Well run place with people who seem like they care. We left our Christmas Eve family breakfast early to sneak away here to eat a second time 😂 Also, if you’re worried about eating in a gas station, it is very clean and bright with windows. There is ample seating. COME HERE! ITS AWESOME!”

“We tried Volpe Italiano using Doordash last weekend for the first time and was pleasantly surprised! The menu has some of the traditional Fox and Turtle favorites (like the chicken lombardi and crispy eggplant salad, yum!!) but we wanted to try something new so we got the veal parmigiana and the cavatappi carbonara and we loved both. The veal was tender and tasty and came with a huge side portion of pasta (the marinara sauce was delicious)! The carbonara was rich and creamy and so worth it. The delivery came in about 20 minutes and our food was still steaming hot. Great experience all around and will definitely order again when craving Italian. Can’t wait to try the pizza!”

“I have been going there for 15 years or more. It is a little not an area that I am in on a weekly basis so I make it a point to stop when I can. This is an old style Italian restaurant in the modern world. I have never had anything close to a bad meal there in fact quite the opposite. My mother was Italian and while nothing is as good as hers, this place would meet her approval too. No need to point out a particularly outstanding entree I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. There are two things besides the food that should be mentioned. The service is outstanding provided by professional servers who know the fare very well. Secondly and just as important is the atmosphere. Although they have expanded into the next unit as well the original section is perfect for a romantic meal or anything requiring that kind of decor. You will frequently find business being conducted at a table. That's just another recommendation, you are not going to entertain clients someplace where you are not sure everything will be special. Definitely a place to try if you are ever in the area.”

The only downside is their place is very small, hence 4 stars out of 5. And some of the dishes come in a really huge plate so there's not enough space at all on the table. “The food was very good on the buffet. It was certainly worth the cost, so there was very good value for a lunch. I only reduced by one star because twice now I have gone and ended up waiting and requesting that they replenish the buffet as it had run out. If they can do a better job of keeping up with the selection in the buffet, I would certainly raise it to five stars because everything that I had was delicious and fresh. Looking forward to trying it for a sit-down dinner with service as the menu looks promising.”

“What a GREAT place!! Greek food and hospitality at its finest. Went with my family, old and young, the owner made us feel as if we were at his house. His attention to detail was excellent. We are italian and grew up with Greek neighbors, he gave us that same warn welcome feeling we love. He will walk you through the menu if you are new to the experience. “Right around the corner from Itasca train station, this place was great! Food was just what we were looking for. Between us all we had the Split Pea Soup, Denver Skillet, Pancakes, Ham and Croissant Benedict, and the Crab Burger with fries. There are only two things keeping this from 5 stars: 1. It was a bit slow and packed (which we found out later that they had no bus staff), but they did well. 2. The Crab Burger was impossible to eat as a burger. I needed a fork and knife to get a part of it all, but it was cooked perfectly. Tomato was a little over ripe and fries could have been crisper. OBVIOUSLY I'm being extra picky for improvement sake. All in all, a great place, decent portions, fair prices. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.”

“Back in March for my birthday dinner I had chosen to come to the Fox and Turtle Country club in Itasca because I had been there a few times with my mom and the food was really good. It’s a country club but also a really nice restaurant inside, the view is pretty of the golf course and the vibe in the restaurant was more upscale but still felt normal. We had gone on a Saturday night and the wait for a table was not long at all, we were greeted very nicely and taken to my favorite booth in the place. I had ordered my usual (grilled cheese with a side of mashed potatoes). It was delicious as always and my mom had mentioned that it was my birthday. The waiter was very attentive and accommodating. She made sure our drinks were constantly filled and the food came out perfect. When it was time for dessert they had given me a slice of cake with a candle in it and sang to me. It was all very sweet and typical. The cake was great and free! Overall my experience at the Fox and Turtle restaurant was fantastic, employees were great, and my birthday dinner with my family was just how I wanted it. Definitely, recommend this place!”

“This is my favorite review to write! When booking all my wedding vendors, I paid close attention to reviews, so it was important to me to be detailed and open. I can honestly say I had my dream wedding thanks in part to Susie, Gina, and everyone at Itasca Country Club!!!! I had tons of questions, late-night emails, phone calls, changes, and everything in between, and Susie always had advice or an answer for me. If you are looking for a venue that has a coordinator who truly cares that you have the best day, and wants to make sure everything comes together for you, this is your spot. The venue itself is gorgeous. I picked it for a few reasons. The chandeliers and the wall of windows adds so much elegance to the ballroom. The Lyons room was perfect for a ceremony/cocktail hour.I had 170 guests and no one felt crowded. They provided an arch which I was able to decorate, and the addition of the fireplace for my winter wedding was dreamy! Even though I had a December wedding, I still was able to take pictures outside which were gorgeous, and I imagine the pictures in the summer are amazing!! Lastly, the bridal suite is huge and a great spot for the bridal party to hang out and get some peace and quiet before or after the ceremony, or as needed. You might not think you need fireworks at your wedding, but the fact that ICC partners with a fireworks company was a huge selling point for me. They aren't as outrageously expensive as you think, and the fireworks show was awesome! The best part is that you will literally get the most beautiful wedding pictures ever and guests will enjoy the show at the ballroom windows. I can't forget to mention the FOOD. I had multiple guests say it was the best wedding food they've had. Most steaks I have had at weddings are well-done or dry. The filet medallions were pink, juicy, and so tasty. The Itasca Chicken was also a huge hit! Dinner took a bit to get out to everyone, but everyone forgot about that after tasting it...seriously so good. I have to give a major shout out to the coordinator Susie. She is an angel sent from the wedding planning Gods. She helped me get a donut wall (#weddinggoals), answered all my emails and questions within hours, and worked with Gina (also an angel) to set up my wedding perfectly. I literally dropped off boxes of wedding decor, told her my vision, and I arrived 2 hours before the wedding to absolute perfection. If my makeup wasn't done I would have cried seeing it all put together like that. You are in incredibly good hands working with these ladies. They worked so hard to make sure I was happy, and I couldn't have asked for better. I will miss them!”
