“Heard about this location from my favorite Tijuana Flats restaurant in Florida. Have been hoping for a location near Michigan and Wisconsin where I travel summers. Realizing that these folks are just getting started at this first more northern location and that prices seem somewhat steeper than Florida, the food seemed very close to the same, the staff was helpful with drinks, and I was favorably impressed with the manager I met. Hard to rate them the HIGHEST given my experience at Big Bend in Florida but a very good first impression. I plan to go back soon and could possibly review again. Great start!!”

“If you’re planning on coming here, I’d say wait a few months. The place is brand new and they’re still trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t. Hosts and managers are friendly, however, we were heavily disappointed by the service. For a place like this, you expect a little more. We had to wait over 20 minutes for a server to acknowledge us and later waited over 45 minutes for 2 simple pizzas. Plus she kept forgetting things we asked for. I also did not particularly enjoy having to cut my own pizza. I can understand the fun in it, but they don’t even show you how to do it. The pizza was really good, and the atmosphere was nice. We definitely would like to give this place another try, but not in the near future.”

“We were so excited to try this place when we heard it is straight from Japan. It exceeded all my expectations! I’ve had many different Japanese fried chickens and ramen and this was by far the freshest I’ve ever had. You could tell that the noodles were fresh and every part of the dish was cooked to perfection. The fried chicken was the perfect amount of crisp and really was so juicy which is so hard to do with fried chicken! The bun was so tender and had such a great savory and sweet flavor to it. I would highly recommend checking out Kitakata whether you’re an avid Japanese cuisine eater or not!”
