“My favorite finds are good strip-mall restaurants, and Tuscan Tavern exceeds expectations. Subdued and comfortable decor with just enough Italian tackiness to make one feel right at home. “Wow where do I even start? I've lived in the area for almost 5 years and last weekend was the first time my family and I tried this restaurant. All I can say is the food and the service were absolutely amazing! I asked our waitress if they had any salsa that was maybe a little hotter and she went back in the kitchen whipped up her own special salsa that she likes to eat while she's working that's a little spicier and it was delicious! Fast forward a week and we went back there tonight as my father was in town and had a taste for Mexican. Once again the food and service were outstanding but here's what really takes the cake. My father ordered some steak dish and about five minutes after he started eating the owner came over with a whole other steak on a plate and stated he wasn't happy with how small the size of the steak was that was brought out. Keep in mind we didn't think twice about it and the serving size look completely normal to us but the owner stated he wants to maintain a certain level of quality so he brought my father a completely new larger steak out to go in addition to what was already on his plate, who does this?? To have that kind of care and dedication to food is something you don't see a whole lot today and it just reinforces the amazing service we had the first time we went so thank you Gloria, Christina and I didn't catch the owner's name but we will absolutely be regulars going forward!”

“****** UPDATED Within 24hrs of my original review I was contacted by email by the General Manager. I was shocked that I was responded to all...much less so quickly. She went above and beyond to let me know she was sorry for what happened and wanted me as a customer. I was able to enjoy my pizza a few days later and another manager even apologized when I picked up my order. Blown away by how much they care about their customers and I now understand how busy Valentine's day can be for them. Looking forward to enjoying many more pizzas from the Oswego location!!!! Initial Review... I received my confirmation email for my order at 5:21 pm for a 7:00 pm pickup. I arrived at 7:05 and once I got to the cashier I was given my total and I asked for the pizza before I paid. I was told it would be a few minutes until someone could tell me if it was ready. I told him I would like an update in 10 minutes. No updates nothing, finally at 7:25 I went back up and was told they had no idea where in the process my pizza was so I left. I am so glad I did not prepay.”

“The reason I'm not giving a 5 star review is because they put us right at a table by the washrooms and with having a 2 year old in a high chair that was super annoying with constant people passing us. Other then that seating issue, our waitress and other workers were very nice to us. We always had fresh fries and drinks which was nice, plus all our dinners were good. My son also enjoyed the balloons and the chalk boards up front. Overall great experience and we do plan on coming back. Thank you!”

“Normally I would not rate them this high. Usually when I come here in here for a while waiting to be helped. Today 3/13/19 has been by far the best experience i have ever had. All due to a waitress named Pepper! She not only was waiting on the 8 to 19 tables but she was also cleaning tabels and running the register and seating people. I cam in at 2pm and left at 3pm. She was amazing and completely made my day!!”

“Usually a great place to get a quick pizza. Today I requested a pretzel crust with no salt... The receipt says "no PS" the box said custom crust... But my pizza had salt on it... Luckily I checked it before I drove away. I came back in, they took the old pizza, told me they will remake it... No apology... You get what you pay for, I guess ... “Best Ice Cream Ever!! My favorite is their Chocolate Peanut Butter... A little pricey but well worth it. Their Milk and Chocolate Milk are also amazing. I love that it comes in the glass bottles which keeps the milk so fresh tasting. **Hint** During the winter months grab or make a hot chocolate using their Milk and add a scoop of Chocolate Mint Ice Cream.** I am so happy they have expanded enough that we can buy their products even at grocery stores too.”

“Portillo's is one of those places that you HAVE to get when you're in the Chicago land area. Each location has it's own unique feel to it. My 4 and 2 y/o loved the trinkets hanging from the ceiling, the huge gears, the music, but most importantly the food! They loved the hot dog with cheese fries. I enjoyed half of my bacon cheese burger because my 4 year old had a bite and loved it so I gave him half of it, and yes he ate it up!”

Honestly, this is cheap food, so you might expect cheap service. If you want 5 star service, pay 5 star prices.
