“This place is amazing. Best London Fog I’ve ever had. Who knew using loose-leaf tea and not filling it with sugar syrup by default would make such a difference! Kind, courteous, and knowledgeable staff. Clean as a whistle, with plenty of space to work or study at and lots of outlets for power. Clean bathrooms and in an ideal area. This is my new stop when I’m in the area and need a place to recharge. Will be back many more times, I’m sure.”

Food and deserts are awesome as well. The whole environment is so nice, they are like family and they always make you feel you are welcome to stay. It is the perfect place to have a work meeting or to stop by with friends. Sometimes I like to bring my laptop and work from there. “The bagels were delicious, we got a whole different array to try. I am fond of the garlic and herb, but I also really enjoyed the egg bagels. They had a nice rich texture and flavor. I also enjoyed the blueberry and cinnamon raisin bagels. The only one I didn't particularly care for was the pretzel salt... I was under the impression that it was going to be pretzel dough or similar to a pretzel bun, but it just had pretzel salt caked on the bottom of it. I saw the serve Boar's head lunch meat which is the absolute best deli cuts money can buy, so next time I go I plan on grabbing a bagel sandwich.”

“I'm only giving this store three stars because the staff behind the deli and meat counters are awesome! I absolutely love them. The rest of the store is awful. Including the restaurant if you need to use the restroom. There are several younger gentlemen on the front end who are extremely rude. I called last week to speak to a manager about an issue and was hung up on. When I called back to get same person refused to tell me there name and placed me on hold. No one ever came back to the line. Terrible customer service on the front end.”

“I want to preface this by saying that I think this new location is still getting their feet under them, so I will give them another chance at a later date! I think there is a lot of potential here, and things were only not perfect because they are not used to the volume of orders they're getting here in Grayslake. I think when they get the system down, now that they're trying to be a take-out place, they'll be very good. I honestly felt bad when I went in to order, the workers were obviously harried. They said they were not answering the phone anymore because they were so behind. It was ringing off the hook. They obviously wanted to be doing a good job and were just overwhelmed, so I feel for them. They were still really nice to me even though things were crazy. Had the Fig and Prosciutto sandwich -- there was an enormous amount of fig, but only a little bit of prosciutto and goat cheese. I had to scrape most of the fig off, there was a LOT of it. But the order was correct, and the idea was sound, so I give them credit for that. The bagel chips and dip were fine. I had the tiramisu as well and it was very good! I hope they figure out a system for being a take out place, and maybe hire some more kitchen staff. They are getting enough business here for it to be worth it!”

“Incredibly good food. My family and I go out of our way every weekend to eat here. The tamales are the perfect texture and I actually miss the tamales from here while I'm in Mexico. I'm vegetarian and the staff makes a fantastic pambazo without chorizo. The buenote is a big hit with the rest of my meat-eating family. The pan dulce (bread and pasteries) can be hit or miss but there are several items that are always good, including the piedras and panques. Prices are super reasonable. The owner and staff are very friendly and were 10/10 at following COVID precautions.”
