“Cute theme, fun pizzas and appetizers. The adult beverage are super fun! They are served in themed chilled ceramic mugs, animals and such, that you can buy and take home. I ordered the Waving Cat, which was strong and fruity; yummy. I went, for the first time, for my birthday and it was a good experience. Our wait person was quick on the ordering and came back quickly multiple times as our group couldn't make up their minds. Everyone enjoyed the large-ish Dragon appetizer (chicken, bacon, etc.) that came with a creamy sauce. We ordered a couple of pizzas, which all came with sweet and sour sauce as well as a sweet and spicy sauce, one was the"Crab Rangoon", which came highly recommended via word of mouth and reviews. The Crab Rangoon was the group favorite. Another was the Mongolian Beef which was good but could have used a little more flavor.... When someone mentioned to our wait staff that it was my birthday she immediately said congratulations and that I got a free dessert. I order the fried wonton filled with cream cheese and raspberry filling of which everyone really, really enjoyed. All-in-all a good experience ????.”

“I went here because it had the shortest line at Newbo it was OK but wasn't that great my order was fine but it seemed that they messed up orders around me. I would maybe give them another shot. I was kind of shocked that they asked for a Tip... Subway and most other sandwich shops that I go to do not ask customers for a tip I was already paying around $8 for just a small sandwich but I guess they are a big deal in des moline”

Their daily food specials are super creative. I love how you can pour your own coffee, and all you have to do is put a dollar in the jar for a refill. The atmosphere is hip. It's the perfect place to get work done or catch up with friends. Highly recommend this spot.”

“We really enjoyed our experience at Village Meat Market & Cafe. The food was great and reasonably priced. I loved the schnitzel which came with potatoes and candied red cabbage. We like the candied red cabbage so much, we bought more to take home. And their rye bread, which is home made and has a ton of stuff in it, was so good we bought 2 loaves to take home also. And the staff was just amazing. Service was friendly and fast. Would definitely recommend it as a must stop!”

There used to be more so I was disappointed that many were gone and replaced with antique stores and hipster restaurants (and lots of "pop up shops" -whatever those are. There are some of the Old Faithful actual Czech spots left like The Czech Cottage, the fascinating Czech and Slovak Museum, and the"must visit" Sykora's Bakery (their pastries are some of the best I have ever had - and I am super picky about baked goods!).”

“My wife and I stopped by here after driving past. We knew nothing about it but decided to take a chance. We both ordered the Super Steak sandwich. Its a long, ground steak sandwich with veggies and a sweet pepper sauce. I have never had anything quite like it and it was great. This is a really interesting place. It looks like it might have been an old gas station years ago and is located on the grounds of a small but very pretty park with a couple of park benches. The owner was a super nice guy who was happy to take a little time out of his busy night to chat with us. The staff were very friendly too. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will be going back again soon.”
