Grumpy Goat Tavern - Des Moines

Food and beer were decent. They went over board on the TVs. I mean each booth has three huge TVs on the sides with some kind of sports ball games going. So if you like feeling like people are staring at you while you eat, enjoy.

My first visit to the Grumpy Goat and I was not disappointed! I ordered the flatbread pizza and my wife ordered the chicken fingers. My pizza...gigantic, with fresh mushrooms and onions and delicious Italian sausage and beef! The chicken fingers. Eight of them about the size of chicken breasts, were almond encrusted and so moist and delicious! Come here to eat, drink, and ENJOY!! A great locally owned location!!!

Let me start by saying that the food, drinks, and service were great. You should go to this place for a game. HOWEVER, you should stay on top of what the bartenders have on the TVs. I am currently going on a half an hour of watching 60 Minutes interview Brock Turner's sexual assault survivor, not only on the TVs but also as the sound source, at a family sports bar... during the dinner hour... Like I said, come here, but hope that they have realized that they are a sports bar by then. Cheers!
