“The bartenders were friendly, very professional, and very well mannered. The chef they got in the back, wow, I've been around and had a lot of different fried catfish, but wow. This fish was so good I was silent for 10 minutes straight eating this golden crispy darkness. It's a new neighborhood spot, hope it stays and becomes a local spot. 10/10 recommend.”

“Husband and I have eaten here 3 times since it opened. All the food we've tried has been delicious. Items tried so far: frozen old fashioned, frozen lemonade, brussel sprouts, onion rings (thick cut, light crispy breading YUM), fries, Dogtown Burger, BBQ Burger, Fried Mushroom Swiss Burger, Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich and the Prime Rib Sandwich. Would recommend any/all! Dining room is warm, interesting, and comfortable (padded chairs). Service has been timely and friendly. One of our new favorite places to eat.”

“Great spot. They have a unique taste on spicy salsa and a strong red mid salsa leading the way. I got the nachos and really liked their chips. They have pretty solid margaritas and decent deals for them as well. I think you’re missing out if you’re in the neighborhood and don’t stop by. The service is very friendly and attentive. “To start, the room was very open which my wife and I liked right away. The selection of beer on tap was also decent. The food however was the best part. My wife had the wings and I had the buffalo crispy chicken sandwich which was actually 3 individual lightly breaded and fried chicken tenders, both were excellent. I also got the fries covered in cheese which is actually like a beer cheese and it was also excellent. The only thing I would suggest is possibly the beer cheese on the side as it was a bit overwhelming.”

“We anxiously awaited the opening of All Pho You most of the summer. We love pho and have been to most places that offer it in Des Moines. We went on opening day and had a wonderful experience. Since then we have gotten to go pho at least once a week! We love their broth and feel that it is by far the best available locally. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is cute and has a nice atmosphere. We are so happy that we have a wonderful place to get one of our favorite foods with in walking distance! I highly recommend trying All Pho You! How can you not love that name too?!”

“I've been coming here since I was a kid, and it's still my favorite Chinese place in Des Moines. I always get the chicken fried rice (usually can get two meals out of it!), and my husband gets orange chicken, which he says is the best of any Chinese restaurant. Other family favorites have been beef and broccoli, cashew chicken, and combination fried rice (comes with beef and shrimp in addition to the chicken). Best egg drop soup as well!”

This is a local business run by great people and is what makes our city great, so get your behinds over there and support them. Okay, now, you guys, IT'S AE ICE CREAM! 1) another local business 2) the best I've cream ever! Seriously, it is the creamiest most yummy dairy tasting ice cream! The employees are mostly young teenagers and I think they do a great job and dress like...teenagers selling ice cream. Shorts, t-shirts, ponytails, etc. I grew up in the neighborhood and my parents still live in the same house, so it's great to see a solid local business located where I used to ride my bike constantly every summer. Not knocking DQ, but...well, yes I am...we have amazing local dairy and amazing local entrepreneurs and I'd rather see that in my city any day! ***IMPORTANT: If reading other reviews, please do note that the current owners were franchisees for DQ, then sold the business to an employee (I don't know the details, but it ended up closing), and eventually bought it back and just reopened mid-summer 2019. So any reviews dated in recent years but before, like July/August 2019 do not reflect the current ownership or product!!!***”

“Really excellent. Truly I cannot overstate how pleasantly surprised I was by the food here. Walking in I found it really difficult to imagine actually liking the food, but now I find it difficult to imagine not going back. In fairness, I've only tried the pork belly burger and the shark so far; they sounded the most interesting. However they did not disappoint in the slightest. Both were really delightful in their own way. The menu is reasonably sized and seems to be mostly interesting takes on traditional bar food. The mozzarella sticks for example have as much in common with egg rolls as they do with traditional mozzarella sticks. If that sounds strange, please know that I mean it in the best possible way. I never knew I needed that much cheese in my mozzarella sticks before, but now that I do, I'm sure my arteries will regret it. I've only been there once, so I can only give my first impressions on the atmosphere. From what I can tell though, it is completely devoid of pretense; perhaps even bordering on crude at times. If the ceremony of fine dining is what you're looking for you won't find it here. With that said, I feel confident asserting that whatever it lacks in monochromatically clad waitstaff it more than makes up for in really tasty food.”
