“2 person staff. One was busy at the computer, so I was ignored for a few minutes. When asked what I'd like to order, she verified that ALL pizzas were $10 (nice) since it was Tuesday. I asked about the new pizza I'd seen advertised on TV, but was told they didn't have those yet. Ordered, and watched my order being made. The pizza was on a flimsy baking base, covered loosely with plastic wrap. Not easy to carry, and had I known before hand, I would've made sure I had a clear area in the car. Got it home safely, added a little more cheese,followed the directions (bake for 10 minutes, and remove the pan; it crisped up nicely and didn't burn the bottom), and enjoyed it. Will I do it again? Yes. Especially on a Tuesday.”

“Edited after owner reached out: These folks care about the food and service. I appreciate the owner reaching out after we had an experience that was less than what we were used to. May have been an issue with the food vendor that day, have had great experiences in the past. Staff always friendly. * original review: This place has been in our rotation of family weeknight eats for a few years. Always friendly staff, still the case today, however it seems the food quality has taken a sharp dive in recent months. The menu recently changed as well. We ordered a taco pizza and have been vomiting it back up as a family as we try to go to bed this evening. The pizza looked different than we remembered when they put it in our table but we thought it may be something with the new menu. The pizza was covered in so many chips you couldn’t see the substance underneath that can only be described as a gelatinous brown meat/bean/god knows what blob. Our pizza didn’t smell or taste right, after a few bites we all put it back. Even the waitress commented she could smell something odd about the pizza. I have never been so sick from restaurant food in my life. We’ve has great food here in the past. We used to love going here as a family, not likely to try again. Again, staff is super nice.”

“Great local place. Get the Trap Star. Seafood by the bag. Dress casual in dark clothes and wear the bib. Casual fun atmosphere relaxing. We went with our adult kids. Eating with your hands feel like you earn what you eat! Order loaves of bread one for each bag at minimum. One bag feeds two hungry people. Beer is cheap. Staff is super friendly and owner comes around to the tables regularly. Our whole family now says this is their favorite place to eat in Des Moines.”
