“They were nice, and the food came fast. It was also delicious. I had never had “beyond meat”. It wasn’t bad, but I think they’d probably do better just serving chicken. This is the rural mid-west… Indian food is enough of leap for a lot of folks here, much less “Beyond Meat” Indian food. Speaking of which, the pieces of “beyond meat” tasted great, but were too big, with no way to cut. They need to be bite-sized. They are still getting settled, but the place was clean and nicely decorated. Again, the food was really good. The portion sizes are kind of confusing. At first I thought it was way overpriced, but then I realized the portion sizes are for two (possibly 3). Also kind of odd that you have to order rice as an extra (not included w/ the curry), but a single rice portion is enough for two as well. We came about a week after they opened. They have some things to figure out, but we were happy overall, and we’re excited to come back.”

“Food is tasty and portions aren’t small! Can easily get an entree and drink for under 15$ and the food is pretty high quality. Great atmosphere for the whole family. (Bonus: they have chips and salsa)”

“We always have the best time at this pumpkin patch. We make so many memories here year after year. The entire staff is so friendly. I'm an adult now, but I use to enjoy it when I was little (when it was Carrolls). Now I bring my own child every year and it never disappoints. My 5 year old loves the corn pool (I do hope they expand the corn pool to make it bigger one day) and the bouncy pillows (I love that they have one specifically for kids for safety reasons). We had a blast in the corn maze, feeding the goats, and riding the wagon out to the pumpkin patch.”

“They really need two people as it gets backed up quickly with the same person running the register and filling the orders. This is not the place if you want quick service and it's not the staff person's fault. Food is pretty tasty. Drink sizes are limited.”

“Nice employees and good food! I know this is a new business so I have some suggestions. I would recommend reducing the large potion sizes in order to lower the price points a bit. I would also have the line start where you can order at the beginning of the line and pay at the end of the line. I would also consider stream lining the menu even further by specializing in the burritos to get out orders quickly. It would also be nice if there were a large menu behind the counter.”

“We each had a simple order, burgers and fries/cheese balls. Burgers were amazing, fries were really good and cheese balls were good as well. No social distancing or masks enforced, which is fine to me personally but not everybody. The mosquitoes are usually fine at the lake as well but they were out tonight in full force, without anything really to prevent them outside on the patio. Fresh air is appreciated and still worth it for sure (could have sat inside) but a tiki torch or another repellent would be the icing on the cake.”

“I don't really think of myself as a coffee expert, I'm more of a "just give me coffee and I'm happy" kind of gal, but, this coffee was different-apparently the roast it themselves? I don't know, I just know that I looked up at my dining companion and said "Wow, this is really good coffee!" and it is very rare to get such a great cup of coffee with breakfast at a place like this. Also worth noting-thin crispy bacon and homemade biscuits, add eggs and hello happy breakfast. Service was also good-friendly and attentive.”

“I ordered a large diet coke, there were two cars ahead of me. All of the sudden this lovely employee comes walking to my car while I'm in line. ???? She begins to tell me Nate the manager sent her out with my drink, no charge.???? I think my jaw dropped, I tried to give her money lol. She says, "No, don't worry about it". Nate didn't want me to wait in line just for my drink. UNHEARD OF!!! How cool is that? ????♀️ She says that's "just the way he is", I think everyone would ❤ to have a boss like that!! I will absolutely be back!!”

“I was in town for a job interview and tried Taco John's because it was open late. It was my first time and I liked it so much I went the next night too! The potatoes were sooo delicious and perfectly seasoned. I think I had what they call a grilled burrito. Yum! So cheesy. I hope that in the future I can visit again.”

“I tried to change my diet and eliminate as much processed food as possible. While traveling I needed to eat and had been to a Jimmy John's once before and thought I'd try again. I discovered they have an option for a lettuce wrap sandwich. Lettuce was amazingly fantastic. Fits my diet while traveling better than any other fast food. Will become the go to for quick meals while traveling.”

“I was surprised to find this place. I will definitely return. Friendly staff and nice facility. Food didn’t seem to fresh. I had the chicken and biscuits. Not great. Up your game on the food side. That’s my recommendation. I’ll return soon for a second dip.”

“I have loved everything that 1854 Deli has offered. There are too many sandwiches to pick from that are my favorite. The Oracle; I love how the chicken is shredded. The Not Just Turkey is fabulous with the apple butter. And if I want something light the Sasha is wonderful and the hummus is amazing. All of the soups are fantastic. My favorite has been the dill pickle chowder. Who knew dill pickles would taste so good. All the soups are made daily and use fresh ingredients. The staff is wonderful! They just put a smile on your face. Every time I'm in Grinnell I always stop by (let's be honest, about every day I'm there) to enjoy some of my favorite foods!!”

“Friendly and attentive cashier/server. They were short staff so took a little longer than excepted, but allowed time to sit and talk. Eat on their patio and serve brought food to us, was nice. Quarter pounder was okay. Fries were perfect, side salad was quite small.”

“This was the 2nd time I ate here and I was impressed. The restaurant is very clean and I love the sunflower theme. Our host was very friendly and sat us right away and immediately brought chips and salsa plus bean dip. Chips were fresh and crisp and salsa had just enough heat. The menu selection is large. Portions are generous as well as very tasty. Our waiter was very friendly and service was excellent.”
